This week joining Priscilla are two incredible guests from the Avondale University Church team. We have Norman Hurlow, the Pastor of Uni Church, and Liam Liveridge, volunteer from California. They discuss God's patience and sense of humour with each of us, the significance of inviting people into our homes and experiencing incredible things together, as well as the miracle power of expectancy with God.
It's a family affair this week on the Salt Podcast as we have cousins Charles Waqa, first-year Primary Teaching student, and Ella Vateitei, third-year Counselling and Chaplaincy student. They delve into the interesting Chapter 9 in Acts touching on why we shouldn't judge people based on their 'reputation', being open to letting God change us from within, using our gifts and talents to bless other people and bring them together and a whoooole lot more!
This week we have a Cooranbong local Samara Bentley, and icon Shona Bolst, together also known as SB^2, third–year Secondary Teaching students. They discuss the difference between reading and studying the Bible, the crazy miracles of the early Church, the power of sharing your findings and studying together, and much more!
This week we are joined again with Kate Lon Ho Kee, one of our Salt leaders here and Serene Knight, volunteer at Avondale and student at Newbold. Reviewing Acts 7–famously known as the story of the first Christian martyr–they discuss how we may not always see the way justice is served, fulfilling what God has called us to do as well as the importance of our words and actions for sprouting the seed of others’ faith and ministry.
This week joining Priscilla are two awesome Ministry and Theology students, SJ Foaga and Mikael Falculan. They have a moving conversation discussing Acts 6, the importance of being full of both faith and discipline in all we do, how ministry isn't a 'one size fits all' anymore, and recognising the Holy Spirit that lives within us.
Joining Priscilla for our fifth episode are Josh Stothers, Pastor and Chaplain at Hills Adventist College and Castle Hills Church, and Serene Knight, a student at Newbold College and volunteer at Avondale. They discuss the events of Acts 5, the danger of pride and wanting prestige, trusting that God has our back, and practicing love and kindness when sharing the Gospel.
Joining Priscilla in episode 4 are Pastor Morgan Vincent, associate Pastor at Avondale University Church, and our very own Kate Lon Ho Kee, third-year Primary teaching student, is back. They discuss what it means to be bold in our faith, how to deal with when your worldview changes, and recognising our ‘God at work’ moment.
Joining Priscilla for the third episode are Brooke, a second-year Secondary teaching student, and Josh Carnie, a Pastor at both a Church and school in Sydney. They discuss their standout parts of Acts 3, God's will being tied to who He wants us to be rather than do, and ways for us to practice gratitude even in the hard times.
Joining Priscilla for our second episode are Salt leaders Kate Lon Ho Kee, a third-year Primary Teaching student, and Sarah Tucker, a second-year Secondary Teaching student. They discuss the mammoth chapter that Acts 2 is, what their personal view of the Holy Spirit is, the strength of community particularly when it comes to acts of service, and much more!
Joining Priscilla this week is Cooper Redman, a third-year Theology and Ministry student, and Sarah Tucker, a second-year Secondary Teaching student. They discuss their personal experiences of the Holy Spirit, the power of joining together in worship and prayer (especially at our Salt services!), and how encouraging it is that we don't have to have it all figured out.
