The almost maniacal drive to reopen schools in Florida may ultimately turn out to be one of the worst public health and political decisions ever made in the State of Florida.

Only the Republican Party has nominated candidates for the County Commission at large District 7 seat. What that means, is that whoever wins the primary election becomes the new District 7 County Commissioner at large.

We barely know what the short-term consequences of the COVID-19 virus are, let alone the long term affect this virus may have on young people who have contracted it.

District 7 is fortunate to have three dedicated and highly qualified candidates running for the District 7 County Commission Seat.

In the upcoming Manatee County Commissioner at Large Primary race, the Republican candidate, either Ed Hunzeker or George Kruze automatically is elected to the seat.

It seemed so very perfect. The first-term governor, Navy SEAL, handsome, young, replete with beautiful wife and lovely family, political experience as a member of the US House of Representatives and a charming personality to go with all of that.

It seems to me; we may be infected by two plagues. The first is the coronavirus itself, and the second may well be the plague of the media.
