How do I remain a stable believer? How do I keep from stumbling.

In this podcast message we study through 2 Peter 1 in which Peter gives us the picture of the wholesome believer and those things that we can continue in to keep us from stumbling.

"For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." - 2 Peter 1:8-11

"Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." Romans 10:1-5

Are we still suffering this same ignorance today?

Listen to this podcast audio message to hear more about the danger of ignorance concerning the free gifts that we have received through Jesus' finished work on the cross.

Paul's prayer for the believers in Ephesus found in the book of Ephesians 1 reads, " I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,.."

The book of Proverbs teaches us that "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the holy one is understanding."
