As we continue in Joshua 9 this week, we see the Israelites deceived by the Gibeonites. They are in fear of the God of Israel and seek to be in covenant with them for their own protection. The Gibeon story is one we can relate to- they deserved the wrath of God, yet they are shown grace. If our salvation was dependent on us, there would be no hope. Let us look to the Gospel as we review the story of the Gibeonites.
