There isn't a good character in Genesis 34- Jacob at best is a passive father, and his sons, in pursuit of justice, dispense injustice. At this point, Israel (the nation) doesn't exist and there has been no giving of the law. What we see is a story of man's wickedness and their need for Jesus.
