In Genesis 28, we see Jacob's departure from Canaan as he heads to Haran to find a wife. On his journey, he stops to rest and has a vision of the heavens. In this dream, there is a vision of angels ascending and descending on a ladder. When we read this with New Testament eyes, we know that Christ is the ladder.
