Samboleap Tol is Cambodian, but grew up in the Netherlands in one of the few Cambodian refugee families in a tiny Dutch town; rejecting her Cambodian identity for much of her life.

It wasn't until she found out more about what had happened in seventies Cambodia that she started to understand her family history and embraced her Cambodian identity.

Now she's making a documentary about the Thai refugee camp where her parents met and her brother was born — Khao-I-dang.
