  • W2D6 – The Method of the Evangelist: Strategic Prayer
Though God could have completed His redemptive work on His own, He chose to make His children into His witnesses. He placed us in this time of history for the sole purpose of reaching those He put around us. It is up to each of us to lead our personal circles of influence to know Jesus!
In Luke 18, the Parable of the Persistent Widow tells us that God answers those who persistently pray. Indeed, God hears our prayers for others and responds by preparing their hearts to receive the message of Jesus. Hundreds of thousands of people have come to know Jesus through the prayers of His children.

  • W2D5 – The Message of the Evangelist: The Power of the Testimony
One of the greatest tools God gives us is the tool of our testimony. A testimony is a personal story of how God has worked in your life. Though anyone can argue about theology or cultural differences, no one can discredit what God has done in your life. That’s what makes the testimony so powerful!
Psalm 105:5 says, “Remember His marvelous works which He has done!” Sharing your testimony is a wonderful way to remember His work in your life. Praise Him today for the marvelous things He has done and trust His ability to continue to change lives with His love.

  • W2D4 – The Resources of the Evangelist: Material Resources
The more we trust in our own ability, the less we trust in God. Though we should be responsible with the gifts God has given us, we should also derive our efforts from God’s direction rather than our own. Without Him, we can do nothing!
As children of God, we have a perfect Father who knows our needs. We can trust Him to provide for every one.

  • W2D3 – The Personal Life of the Evangelist: A Clean Life
Though Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to live within us until He returns, the Holy Spirit cannot dwell in the same place with sin. In order for the Spirit to live fully in and through us, we must let God kill our sinful nature and surrender ourselves completely to His will.
In order to die to ourselves, we must confess our sins to God and turn away from our wrongdoing. He then cleanses our hearts from sin so that the Holy Spirit may inhabit us. A clean life is one that God has personally cleansed!

  • W2D2 – Prayer and Evangelism: Praying for Others
Evangelists are intercessors. Our role is not only to share the gospel, but also to pray fervently for God to prepare the hearts of the hearers to accept it.
The Kingdom prayer is simply, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done!” This prayer aligns us with God’s mission, agenda, and methods for reaching the lost. It opens us up to hear the Holy Spirit clearly so that we may be part of His work to establish His kingdom. When we surrender our own agendas to God’s will, we invite the Holy Spirit to work through us rather than despite of us.

  • W2D1 – Revival and Evangelism: The Light of Evangelism
The message of Jesus Christ shines light into a dark world. It sets captives free, heals the sick, and even brings the dead to life again. Jesus is the light of the world!
Evangelism operates in the realm of the impossible. If we are faithful to share the gospel at every opportunity, we will see God’s faithfulness to set that gospel at work in the hearts of those living in darkness.

  • W1D7 – The Evangelist Makes Disciples: Multiplying Fruit
The work of the evangelist is not only to win converts to Christ but also to make disciples. Though we can quickly lead others to accept God’s gift of salvation, training new believers to follow Christ daily is a long- term commitment.
A disciple is one who imitates his master.
The multiplied influence of one disciple may not be known until we reach heaven.

  • W1D6 – The Method of the Evangelist: Compassionate Prayer
God’s method for reaching the lost is the witness of those He has already reached. Jesus calls believers to first “pray to the Lord of the Harvest.” We need to prepare for evangelism by asking God to prepare the hearts of the lost.
As we become more like Jesus, we too become moved with compassion for those who live apart from Him. We need to pray that God breaks our heart for the things that break His heart, for it is “His kindness that leads us to repentance.”

  • W1D5 – The Message of the Evangelist: What it is not
The message of the believer is profound but simple: the power of God to save mankind through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
We must be careful not to divert the message of Christ away from the saving power of Jesus. The power of God is not inherent in the blessings that He gives or in the eloquence of the evangelist. It is solely in the message: God became man to take the punishment for our sins on the cross. The reality of His grace displayed in the cross is enough to draw all people into a relationship with God!

  • W1D4 – The Resources of the Evangelist: Human Resources
We all need relationships with people who love God, who love us, and who will be honest with us, no matter how much it hurts. These relationships help us to become the people that God intended us to be.
Evangelism is most effective when it’s a team effort. We were not meant to accomplish the work of God alone. God gives us others with whom we can reach the world.
Together we can reflect the character of Christ more clearly. Each of our gifts is used in unique ways to fulfill God’s mission. When one is weak, another is strong. When one is struggling, another can meet his need. Fellowship with other believers is essential to our Christian walk!
