Davinder Singh Toor, author of "In Pursuit of Empire" and art collector joins Preet to discuss Art patronage under the Sikhs. Art flourished under the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and these pieces made their way into the Western World after the annexing of Punjab by the British in the mid-1800s.

Davinder recounts his anecdotes of finding certain Art, the challenges he faces and also covers the stories behind some of the most prominent and mysterious pieces in his collection.

Pav Singh, author of "1984 India's Guilty Secret", stops by to chat about his understanding and work on exposing the 1984 Genocide by the Indian Government towards the Sikhs. 

Following the assassination of sitting PM Indira Gandhi by her two Sikh bodyguards (Bawant & Satwant Singh), the streets of Delhi and India erupted into violence. Murder, torture, and mass rape were officially chalked up as "communal riots", however in the years since illuminators like Pav, Jaswant Singh Khalra and Amnesty International describe an organised, well funded genocide. 

Pav details his own personal memories of the time as a diaspora Sikh and the lengths at, which he went to too uncover this secret.

This week we’re joined by Nav, Kiran and Pri the team behind Apneh in Football, who share their emotional journey of discovery and the positive effect football can have in some of the most vulnerable communities in India.

Nav (The Football Scientist) has built a career behind the scenes in elite football but his drive to carry out Sewa (selfless service) saw him enlist Kiran and Pri for a trip to YUWA school (Jharkhand, India). The lads share the relationships they built and the talent on display.

While Nav lead elite coaching sessions for the girls, Pri was busy interviewing and delving into the girls stories, and Kiran was there to capture the stills. Each of them utilised their talents, which will be displayed in a series of documentary episodes.

The lads have also come back with a goal. To raise enough money to build the school a state of the art 4G football pitch. A donation of just £3 will go a long way to that goal.
