... is a heart melting LGBTQ poetry book about forbidden love between two teenage boys in South Carolina
Sam's Story is a heart melting LGBTQ poetry book about forbidden love between two teenage boys in South Carolina. The writing style flows so quickly, mimicking the obsessive thoughts of new love and manically bringing us from tears to laughter with each chapter. Dylan's narrative reminds readers of the painful transformation that love forces us through, reevaluating our past and with each new relationship and the struggle to find someone who maybe, for once, is on the same page.
I love this book!
A beautiful story of Gay love written with truth and compassion. The author lured me into the story and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. It was a pleasure !
it's like a huge poem of love
This Book is a must read, it's out of the ordinary. Alone it's written style makes you want to continue without putting it down, it's like a huge poem of love. The story takes you on a journey that is truthful and honest. Homosexuality might be the foundation for this story but through the author's writing we can see that love really is the same for all human beings. The story is touching because it is sincere, and told from a very innocent perspective. First love is something we all identify with, and we can all remember how we felt our first time. This book brings you back to that time.
I love the book and recommend it to everyone who wants to dive into an extraordinary style of writing that is touching and different then all the cheesy cliche love stories we find nowadays. Dylan Joseph succeeds in creating a sincere love story that everybody can relate to who experienced first love at one point in their life.
Couldn't put it down!!
Couldn't put it down and read it cover to cover in about an hour. This is an astonishingly epic story!!! What a gorgeous tale of two boys discovering what it is to be gay and dealing with the obstacles in their way. The book reads like pure poetry and Dylan Martinsen writes so fluidly. It's page after page of art, totally immersing you in their world.
The best thing I like about this is being able to follow the characters they mature and deal with the Mustache, the main character that kind of represents the "older generation" of homophobia, and on a bigger level, of fear. When's the sequel coming out?
Red, the color of love.
Dylan Joseph gives voice to a young man in need of a lifeguard. What starts as an innocent and lazy vacation become something so much more. Our narrator takes us on a journey that reminds us what it's like to fall in love for the first time. Falling in love can feel like drowning and we all may need a lifeguard when swimming in the Deep end of that pool.
This is a story you won't soon forget.
