God equates Israel to a fruitless vine.  We explore what God's Word says about care of His vines.

We use the example of Israel to review true worship.

Hosea is told to blow the horn of God's judgment.  The Kingdom of Israel chooses to be the undesired vessel of Assyria instead of the chosen vessel of the Lord.  We make application to the Church and our relationship to Jesus as our "husband" .

We read the similes that God used to illustrate the adulterous hearts of Israel and take to the Word of God for the correct response of our own hearts.

We see the Prophet call Israel to return to the Lord and we apply the sure truths of Scripture that we are never forsaken by the Lord.  He is there when we turn to Him.

Despite the idolatry and rejection of Israel, God promises restoration!

Part 1

God singles out the false priests for leading the people astray.  We examine this in light of modern "false priests".

God leaves the metaphor of marriage and speaks directly to Israel through Hosea.

God illustrates His unconditional and enduring love to Israel and the Church through His command to Hosea to continue to love the adulterous Gomer.
