The South African Municipal Workers' Union, SAMWU says it will approach the Constitutional Court to challenge a new legislation banning all municipal workers from holding political party positions. According to the union, the Municipal Systems Amendment Act which was signed into law last year contravenes clauses in the Bill of Rights that allow citizens the right to political choices.
