Hey there Pla heads and Ace Pilots!! welcome to another episode and thanks for checking out the video!
In this ep we do a quick talk and analysis of the upcoming anime adaptation of Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash manga, the move simply titled Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway. this will give us a glimpse of the continued aftermath of the Char's Counterattack animated film
Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash (機動戦士ガンダム 閃光のハサウェイ Kidou Senshi Gandamu Senkou No Hasauei?) is a series of three novels written by Yoshiyuki Tomino, published from February 1989 to April 1990. They chronicle the later life of Hathaway Noa, the son of Bright Noa. The novels featured new mobile suit designs by Moriki Yasuhiro.
Following the collapse of the Republic of Zeon’s autonomy, the Earth Federation government declared an end to all wars. However, the absolute control exerted by the Earth Federation government has caused the system to decay. High-ranking Federation officials abuse their privileges and forcefully deport residents into outer space for speaking up against the government in a practice known as "Manhunting". The year is Universal Century 0105. In order to break the decayed system of the Federation, the secret society "Mufti" begins its operations.
Hathaway Noa, still haunted by his past actions (not to mention the spirit of deceased Newtype Quess Paraya), joins a terrorist organization called Mufti and adopts the alias "Mufti Nabiyy Erin". Mufti is fighting a terrorist campaign against the Earth Federation government, and they eventually acquire the incredibly powerful prototype Ξ Gundam, which Hathaway becomes the pilot of. Using the Ξ Gundam Mufti attempts to attack a meeting of high-ranking Federation cabinet members in Adelaide, Australia to force them to vote down a provision which would strengthen the Federation's already considerable powers.
Hathaway's Flash follows an alternate version of the events of Char's Counterattack, depicted in Yoshiyuki Tomino's novel Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children. As such, Hathaway's Flash has several discrepancies when compared to the Char's Counterattack animated film.
For Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway or Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash the movie (機動戦士ガンダム 閃光のハサウェイ Kidō Senshi Gandamu Senkou No Hasauei?) , it will be a direct anime film that takes place twelve years after the canonical events in the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack movie and 9 years after Gundam Unicorn. It is the first in a trilogy of films, based on the Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash novel. It is part of the "UC NexT 0100" project. It was originally slated to release on July 23, 2020, but due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the film was delayed and then later announced to be releasing on May 7, 2021.
