Neal and Ruthie Schneider just recently returned from their eight year circumnavigation around the globe on their sailboat, Rutea. The Schneider’s spoke about their journey through the years, life on the boat, and a slew of information about their many, many stops.

Christy Crawford Donnelly, formerly known as Christy Steinman, covers a variety of topics on the San Diego Yacht Club Sailcast including the start of her sailing career, being a navigator, several intense races she sailed in, SORC, and of course, being the first woman to crew for America’s Cup with Dennis Conner.

Mark Reynolds joins us on the SDYC Sailcast to discuss how he got into sailing, his experiences racing through his career, the Olympics, his icons, and what he’s doing now.

Starting off the Sailcast episode, Andrew talks about the simple exposure that he received from the Junior Sailing Program and how his family (who double as his role models) made it the norm to go sailing often. Born in Toms River, NJ, Andrew made it to the West Coast to start the SDYC Junior Sailing Program around age 6 or 7. His father, Bill Campbell, sailed the ’92 America’s Cup and was Commodore nearly 15 years ago. “My family always used SDYC as the center of their universe,” he explains.

SDYC Commodore Jerelyn Biehl joins us on the SDYC Sailcast to talk about all things SDYC Opening Day, the 90th year of the Junior Program what it means to the Biehl Family, what it’s like to be on the Board and be Commodore, and what’s on the horizon at SDYC.

CF Koehler discusses his life around the boat yard, Koehler Kraft, his 10-meter wooden boat Sally, becoming a member of the Yacht Club, and the importance of comfortable cruising interiors paired with good camaraderie. He finishes with talking about the benefits of sailing a boat like Sally compared to newer models, advice on getting involved and his upcoming racing schedule.

PC Fleet Captain Danielle Richards joins us on the San Diego Yacht Club Sailcast to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the PC Fleet, cover their colorful history, recap some previous and upcoming events, and discuss some of the current PC boats at SDYC.

Max Brennan, 17 and Captain of the Newport Sea Base Offshore Sailng Team, talks about his start into sailing, Governor's Cup, and time in Australia, his role as Captain, and his recent experience in the Islands Race.
