In our final message of the series, we look to the second advent of Christ. Because God was faithful to keep His promise to send a Rescuer, we can trust His promise to return. This gives us hope for the future and peace and purpose in the present.

Hannah's Prayer - 1 Samuel 1:9-28, 2:1-10  Hannah recognized God's sovereignty.  The giver was more important than the gift.  God used the gift of her son Samuel to do great things.

Advent Part 1: Waiting with expectation for the promised Rescuer.

Nehemiah 1:4-10, 2:1-6 - Nehemiah was moved to prayer and fasting by a situation that broke the heart of God: the state of the city of Jerusalem and its people. However, Nehemiah didn't just pray, he was also willing to be the answer to his own prayer, risking everything to go to the city and lead the efforts to rebuild the walls. In the end, the exiles returned, not just to the city, but to God.

Psalm 106 - The Israelites failure to remember and give thanks led to further sin and separation from God. The call of scripture is to give thanks in all circumstances.
