If you’ve ever looked at your life and thought, “I don’t recognize myself anymore,” this episode explains exactly why — and how you find your way back.
Women don’t lose themselves because they’re weak. They lose themselves because their brains adapt to decades of emotional labour, caregiving, survival patterns, and the pressure to be everything for everyone.
In this deep, neuroscience‑anchored episode, I break down the four stages of the Unalome at a metaphor for a woman's life — the spiral, the knots, the straight line, and the point — the psychological and biological map of a woman who forgets herself… and then remembers.
You’ll learn:
• why women “disappear” inside roles, responsibility & emotional overload
• the brain changes that drive identity loss in your 30s, 40s & 50s
• why you repeat the same patterns (overgiving, overfunctioning, self‑silencing)
• the midlife awakening — the moment you finally say “I’m done”
• the four stages of the Unalome and how to know which one you’re in
• the practical steps that move you from overwhelm → clarity → return
This episode is for the woman who whispers, “I miss me.”
You’re not lost. You’re in a stage — and stages have exits.

If women are wired for connection, why do some of our worst social pains come from other women? This episode unpacks the biology, psychology, and social conditioning behind female competition and what to do about it.
I explore the tend-and-befriend stress response, oxytocin, cortisol, and nervous system safety, and then connect the quality of female friendship directly to midlife health, cognitive protection, and healthy aging. High-strain relationships aren't just emotionally exhausting — they carry a measurable physical health toll.
I name what rarely gets named: scarcity conditioning, the patriarchal bargain, tall poppy syndrome, social media's strategic withholding, and how shame — as Brené Brown's research shows — spills outward as blame, silencing, and social coalitions. Attachment theory and the norm of reciprocity round out the picture.
You'll leave knowing the clear signs of an unsafe friendship and three grounded ways to protect your energy without compromising your integrity.

What happens when you stop trying to look "good for your age" and start living like you're allowed to take up space?
I sit down with Carrie Olver — one of Canada's most recognized on-air TV personalities and broadcast veterans — for a refreshingly honest conversation about visibility, confidence, reinvention, and what it really means to own your midlife era with style and intention.
We get into what it's like to age on camera in an industry that often treats women like they have an expiry date — and why that narrative is finally starting to shift. Carrie opens up about what public criticism felt like earlier in her career, how social media bullying shows up differently today, and the mindset work that helps her let most of it roll off without losing herself in the process.
We talk about the pressure women face to constantly explain or justify their appearance, their choices, and their bodies — and what it looks like to stop doing that. Whether you're navigating your own reinvention, stepping more fully into who you are, or simply trying to feel confident and visible in a world that doesn't always make space for women over 40, this conversation will meet you where you are.
We also go deeper into the wellness side of midlife — clearing physical clutter and mental clutter, letting go of outdated success markers, and what it feels like to find real flow state when you're fully present in your own life. If you've been feeling stuck, overstretched, or like something needs to shift, you'll find a lot in this episode to sit with.
Plus, Carrie shares the story behind Carry O — her made-in-Canada fashion line created specifically for changing bodies. Relaxed but tailored, functional but beautiful — essentials designed to make you feel like yourself again, at every size and every stage. 👉 Shop Carry O at TSC: https://www.tsc.ca/products/brand/carrie-o?srsltid=AfmBOoo-JfD4DWtPClWZKQH8bYT1q63Kgeob-8eAvNwpxh9zohgYLnKb

You've probably been told your appendix and tonsils are basically optional. I don't buy that — and the research backs me up.
In this episode I break down the full story on two of the most dismissed organs in the body. What they actually do, why they matter more than you've been told, what drives removal, and what can shift afterward — plus how to support yourself whether you still have them or not.
Your appendix is an active microbiome reservoir that helps reseed your gut after illness, infection, or antibiotics, and plays a direct role in IgA immune regulation. Your tonsils are your immune system's first line of defense — tied to your oral microbiome, lymphatic drainage, airway mechanics, and vagus nerve tone. These are not evolutionary leftovers. They are functional, living parts of systems your body depends on daily.
I cover what actually drives appendicitis and tonsil failure, the connection to dysbiosis and chronic inflammation, and what people notice after removal — gut reactivity, anxiety, shifted gut-brain signaling, and immune changes. I also walk through the practical tools that support your body on both sides — fibre, prebiotics, polyphenols, gut barrier support, warm salt water gargling, nasal breathing, tongue posture, anti-inflammatory nutrition, hydration, and nervous system regulation.
I also explore the somatic and energetic layer — safety and intuition with the appendix, and voice, truth, and boundaries with the tonsils. Science and soul, together.
This is Part 2 of 2. Part 1 covers the gallbladder and uterus — two more organs dismissed as optional that your body would strongly disagree with.

“You don’t need it” is one of the most casually dismissive sentences in modern wellness. Gallbladder removal and uterus removal are common surgeries, yet many people notice real shifts afterward and they’re left trying to understand what changed and why.
In Part 1 of this two‑episode series, I break down what the gallbladder and uterus actually do, how to keep them healthy, what can shift after removal, and how to support your wellness with clarity instead of confusion.
Gallbladder Removal (Cholecystectomy):
• what the gallbladder does: bile timing, fat digestion, fat‑soluble vitamins
• why gallbladders fail: rapid weight loss, low‑fat dieting, estrogen shifts, insulin resistance, genetics, GLP‑1 meds (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro)
• common symptoms after gallbladder removal: bloating, diarrhea, urgency, fat intolerance
• microbiome changes and nutrient absorption
• myths people hear after surgery
• practical supports: bitter greens, hydration, magnesium, digestive enzymes with lipase + ox bile
Uterus Removal (Hysterectomy):
• why the uterus is far more than a reproductive organ
• pelvic nerves, ovarian blood flow, libido inputs
• hormone shifts after uterus removal
• progesterone myths, estrogen dominance, painful periods that deserve investigation
• emotional and somatic changes some women experience after hysterectomy
• how to advocate for hormone testing, gut support, and nervous system regulation
If you’ve already had gallbladder removal or uterus removal, this episode gives you language, options, and a grounded understanding of what your body may need moving forward.
Next week in Part 2: Appendix and Tonsils - what they do, why they matter, and what can shift when they’re gone.

Chaos has a way of convincing us that life is happening to us, not for us. If you are feeling anxious, stuck, or one text away from a full spiral, this special Friday release is your weekend mindset reset.
I recorded this episode to lighten the load and hand you real, actionable concepts that change how your brain processes stress, triggers, and uncertainty, all without the toxic positivity. Think of this as a practical masterclass in perspective. These are bite-sized, unforgettable psychological theories you can immediately reach for when life goes off the rails.
In this episode, I break down:
Going into the Psychology "Basement" Finally, I dig into the heavy-hitting depth psychology. You’ll learn how to use your triggers as mirrors, uncover the "secondary gain" keeping you stuck, survive the liminal void of identity transitions, and finally grieve your Ghost Ship (the unlived life) so it stops haunting your present.
If you’ve been craving a clearer mind, a steadier mood, and absolute peace, this one is for you.

Ever notice how you can eat bread and pasta in Europe and feel completely fine but the moment you’re back home, the bloating, fatigue, and brain fog return?
I want to understand exactly why.
In this episode, I break down what’s really happening in your body when you travel and why it has far less to do with “magic food” and far more to do with your nervous system.
Because when your body finally feels safe, everything changes.
When you’ve been living in a constant state of stress, your sympathetic nervous system stays activated. Cortisol remains elevated, digestion slows, your vagus nerve becomes suppressed, and your body shifts into survival mode. That affects everything from how you break down food to how you think, feel, and show up.
Then you get on a plane, land somewhere slower, and suddenly… You feel like yourself again.
This isn’t random. It’s biology.
In this episode, I walk you through:
But more importantly, I show you how to bring this home.
Because you don’t need a plane ticket to feel better in your body.
The anchor for this episode is a word I love: Pomalo, a Croatian philosophy that means little by little, slow down. Most of you know, I am a Croatian girl. I love this word.
That’s how real healing happens.
If you’ve been feeling disconnected from your body, stuck in stress, or frustrated that you feel better everywhere except your real life, this episode will change how you see it.

Most people think they need more confidence, but what they’re actually missing is embodiment.
In this episode, we break down what embodiment really is, why it fades in midlife, and how to return to yourself when modern life constantly pulls your attention outward.
You’ll learn the science in clear, grounded language:
We also explore how noise, multitasking, scrolling, comparison, and stress disconnect you from your body and what actually restores parasympathetic safety.
You’ll get practical tools you can use today:
Embodiment isn’t a performance or a perfect state; it’s a capacity you return to again and again. This episode shows you how. To work with my friend Brenda Farrugia, go to https://www.sobrilliant.ca/. I promise you she's the real deal.

Gen X vulnerability, shame, nervous system triggers, emotional regulation, crying, and midlife overwhelm — this episode breaks down why vulnerability feels confusing, unsafe, or even threatening for so many Gen X adults. If you grew up with “don’t cry,” “be tough,” or “stop making a scene,” your nervous system learned to treat emotional expression as danger.
I dig into the neurobiology of shame, how emotional tears down‑regulate the stress response, and why someone else’s vulnerability can activate your own threat system. Using Brené Brown’s definition of shame as the belief that we’re unworthy of love and belonging, I explore how fast shame fires and why it often shows up as irritation, shutdown, or control.
Then I drop Gen X into today’s world: performed vulnerability on social media, comment‑section shame spirals, and a constant stream of emotional content that overwhelms a nervous system built for face‑to‑face co‑regulation.
I close with grounded boundaries, accountable vulnerability, and practical regulation tools, plus a clear look at medical factors that can blunt emotion — SSRIs, hormones, thyroid issues, ADHD, autism, trauma history, and chronic stress.
If you know the “don’t cry” script by heart, this one will land.

If you’re bloated, refluxy, exhausted after meals, stuck in cravings, or frustrated that your metabolism won’t budge—even though you’re fasting, cold plunging, tracking glucose, taking supplements, and stacking every “health hack”—this episode is your reset.
Most people focus on what they eat. Almost no one talks about how they eat. And that missing step can change digestion, metabolism, satiety, and weight loss more than another protocol ever will.
In this episode, I break down the rise in digestive issues and the physiology behind why your body may not be responding to your efforts. You’ll learn how the cephalic phase of digestion—the brain-driven stage that turns on stomach acid, enzymes, bile, motility, and nutrient absorption before the first bite—can make or break your results.
I explore:
If you want better digestion, smoother glucose curves, more energy after meals, and easier weight loss, this episode shows you the foundational step you’ve been skipping.
Try my simple pre-meal practice for a week and tell me what you notice. If this helps, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a quick rating and review so more people can find the show.
