Last week was a live stream from our church. This week the service comes from the manse as we are still in self-isolation. The sermon this week is a continuation of the 'I AM' series which began a couple of weeks ago with the text from Exodus. This week we move on to the new testament with the text from John 8:48-59.
This sermon was delivered from our sanctuary at Sandyhills Church as part of a live stream to YOUTUBE as we are under restrictions due to the convid-19 virus pandemic.
In a few weeks time we will begin a series on the "I Am" sayings by Jesus from John's Gospel. Todays sermon looks back at Exodus 3:1-15 with Moses in Egypt where the words of God are spoken to Moses in Egypt.
Matthew 11:25-30
25 At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; 26 yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.[g] 27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
The evening service on this our communion Sunday evening looked at John 19:16-30.
We begin a new series of podcasts with our Communion Sunday which was over two services. In the morning service we looked at Galatians 3:1-14 - Paul asks the Galatians many questions in these opening verses.
This is our first service of 2020. Sandyhills church looks to build on our last year with some new members and more coming to our services each Sunday. Norman used the text from Joshua 24:1-18 to speak about his vision for Sandyhills in 2020.
Our Christmas service at Sandyhills Parish Church in Glasgow Scotland.
Over the next four Sundays we will looking at the coming of our Lord Jesus.
