Story Transcript:

Ga: Bhí scamallán liath ag crochadh os cionn an bhaile bheag Éireannaigh, ach níor chuir sé sin isteach ar aigne determined Saorise.
En: A gray cloud was hanging over the small Éirean town, but it didn't affect the determined mind of Saoirse.

Ga: Bhí sé Samhain, agus bhí an halla pobail ag taisce tábhacht na haimsire.
En: It was Samhain, and the community hall was storing the importance of the times.

Ga: Bhí duilleoga órga agus dearg ag titim ón na crainn timpeall, agus bhí fiaghaíl na Samhna fós ag réim ar dhá thaobh an bhóthair.
En: Golden and red leaves were falling from the surrounding trees, and the spirit of Samhain was still reigning on either side of the road.

Ga: Níorbh fhada gur bhraith Saoirse a cóta te de dhíth uirthi agus í ag siúl i dtreo an láithreán vótála.
En: Saoirse soon felt the need for her warm coat as she walked towards the polling station.

Ga: Bhí an halla pobail sean, ach léirigh sé compord agus fáilte na háite.
En: The community hall was old, but it showed the comfort and welcome of the place.

Ga: Bhí maisiúcháin Samhna ar crochadh fós ar na ballaí, ag meascadh lena n-admhálacha páipéar ballóide.
En: Samhain decorations were still hanging on the walls, mingling with the ballot paper acknowledgments.

Ga: Bhí suas le deichniúr daoine ag fanacht ann cheana, ina measc bhí na comharsana, Cormac agus Fiona.
En: Up to ten people were already waiting there, among them were her neighbors, Cormac and Fiona.

Ga: D'éirigh Saoirse néirbhíseach, ach rinne sí gáire lena cairde, lánchinnte go gcuirfeadh sí a vóta isteach gan fhad.
En: Saoirse felt nervous, but she smiled with her friends, fully determined that she would cast her vote without delay.

Ga: Go tobann, briseadh isteach sa chiúnas le torann mór.
En: Suddenly, the silence was broken by a loud noise.

Ga: Tháinig fothrom ag eitilt anuas nuair a thit bord mór ag an gcúinne.
En: A clatter filled the air when a large table fell at the corner.

Ga: Bhí daoine ag scaoileadh agus ag gíoscán, go háirithe Fiona, a bhí chomh faoi thost go dtit sí siar.
En: People started to shriek and squeal, especially Fiona, who was so shocked that she stumbled back.

Ga: Bhí brú ar gach duine sa halla, faoi scáth na heagla nach n-éireodh leo vótáil inniu.
En: There was pressure on everyone in the hall, overshadowed by the fear that they might not get to vote today.

Ga: Gan mhoill, ghlac Saoirse buntáiste ar an staid.
En: Without delay, Saoirse took charge of the situation.

Ga: "Ná déan imní!
En: "Don't worry!"

Ga: " a dúirt sí os ard.
En: she said loudly.

Ga: "Socraímid an bord aríst agus coinneoimid an t-ord ar ais.
En: "Let's set the table back and restore order."

Ga: "Rinne siad obair le chéile.
En: They worked together.

Ga: Gluaiseann Cormac agus Saoirse an bord, agus scar Fiona leis na doirse, ag cinntiú go raibh sé sábháilte dul isteach sa halla arís.
En: Cormac and Saoirse moved the table, and Fiona managed the doors, ensuring it was safe to re-enter the hall.

Ga: Cé gur chaith sé am agus iarracht, bhain Saoirse a sprioc amach.
En: Although it took time and effort, Saoirse achieved her goal.

Ga: Bhí an leath de bhainisteoirí an láithreáin ag obair leis, ag éisteacht le treoir Saoirse agus ag cur glacadh leis faoi mheas ina measc.
En: Half of the site managers were working alongside her, listening to Saoirse's guidance and gaining respect in the process.

Ga: Nuair a tháinig an t-am, bhí Saoirse seasamh ar an bpluid chaol, a balláid i nglaise.
En: When the time came, Saoirse stood on the narrow carpet, her ballot in hand.

Ga: Bhí áthas agus faoisimh i gclaochlú a pearsantachta, agus ceap sí gur mhéala dá pobal nuair a chuir sí isteach a vóta.
En: There was joy and relief in her expression, and she felt she had done her community justice as she cast her vote.

Ga: Bíodh leisce nó beidh gá i méid Saoirse go brách, thuig sí an luach a thóg beart gníomhachtú.
En: Whether hesitant or required, Saoirse always understood the value of taking action.

Ga: Ag fágáil an halla, tháinig Saoirse amach i dtéad leis an gaoth fhuar faoin aer fliuch.
En: Leaving the hall, Saoirse stepped out into the cold wind under the wet sky.

Ga: Ach fiú amháin le haghaidh an aimsir, bhí teas sa croí aici.
En: But even with the weather, there was warmth in her heart.

Ga: Bhí an oiread áthais aici as a bheith in a luí isteach ar rud amháin beag, rud a chuirfeadh difríocht isteach ar a pobal féin.
En: She was so delighted to have thrown herself into one small act, something that would make a difference to her own community.

Ga: Lean Saoirse ar aghaidh leis an eolas nach raibh sí riamh ina guth amháin, ach ina guth láidir a d’fhéadfadh athrú a dhéanamh.
En: Saoirse continued on knowing she was never just a single voice, but a strong voice that could make a change.

Ga: Bhí an Samhain seo speisialta, ní hamháin mar gheall ar an bhféasta, ach mar gheall ar an dóigh a chreid Saoirse gur thug sí fílichkeit don cómún a bhí léi.
En: This Samhain was special, not only because of the feast but because of the way Saoirse believed she brought vitality to her shared community.
