Sapphic Stuff

Maddie forces Kristin, who is not an action movie person, to watch Terminator Dark Fate. We discuss how much we love Mackenzie Davis, go off on tangents about Marvel movies, and get sad about how Dark Fate will never have a sequel.

On a bonus Christmas episode, Maddie and Kristin discuss Carol. We talk about the power of Cate Blanchette, our love for Sarah Paulson, and possible Carol sequels.

Maddie and Kristin discuss The Half of It. We talk about the inherently lesbian experience of being in love with someone you cannot have (and of having a straight boy be in love with you). WE WANT THE HALF OF IT 2 (The Other Half of It?) !

Maddie and special guest Becca Damante discuss Oceans 8 and the sapphic stuff within. We talk about a possible Ocean's Nine, Debbie/Lou, and just how special it is to have a movie this female-centric.

Maddie and Kristin chat about the Sapphic Stuff within American Horror Story: Coven. Kristin discusses her long list of sapphic ships for this show, we talk about how loving Sarah Paulson is lesbian culture, and we veer off on wild tangents on how we want crossover fanfic with Coven and Motherland Fort Salem, and Legacies/The Originals/Vampire Diaries. Somehow Naruto also comes up as a possible crossover.

There are spoilers for AHS: Apocalypse as well as AHS: Coven, so beware.

Maddie and Kristin discuss Saving Face. We talk about vending machine flirting, Chinese biddies, dramatic lesbian odes to a growling stomach, and how nice it is to see sapphic content that is not about teenagers.

Maddie and Kristin discuss the various sapphic ships of Motherland Season 2. Raylla, Talder, BellCollar and more are explored. We talk about our hopes for season 3 (and our fears as well). Beware - as with all our episodes, there are spoilers for the show we're discussing within.

Maddie and Kristin discuss Wicked the musical (and a little bit about the book). Beware - as always, there are spoilers aplenty. We talk about Gelphie, the gay energy of Idina Menzel's most popular roles, and our hopes (and fears) for the Wicked movie.

Maddie and Kristin discuss the Fear Street trilogy. We talk about Sam and Deena, and the sapphic tension between Cindy and Alice. We go off on tangents on the Puritans, Sappho, and the Bly Manor/Fear Street connection. There's some swearing in this ep so beware!

Maddie and Kristin discuss The Flame, a musical podcast set in a lesbian bar. We talk about sapphic representation in musicals, the inherent queerness of musicals, and how lesbian bars are disappearing.
