●  Be honest with people, if it bothers you let them know;

●  When using it, know your audience and the damage it can cause;

●   It is a double edged sword, truly cutting remarks can cut deep, please handle with care. 

Even with the best of intentions sarcasm can easily turn from witty banter to witless banter leaving no winners in the end.
