  • Of the Fall, Sin, & Punishment 1689:ch.6 p.11
Today's Sunday School examines the theological nuances of the Fall as described in Chapter 6 of the Confession of Faith, focusing on the distinct roles of Satan, humanity, and God. It argues that Adam's transgression was a willful act committed without compulsion or excuse, rooted in a prior internal violation of the law of nature rather than merely the external breach of a positive command. By drawing on historical theologians like Nehemiah Cox and Thomas Boston, the teaching illustrates that the act of eating the fruit completed a rebellion that had already begun in the heart, thereby breaking the entire law of God at once. Pastor Jason further clarifies that God's permission of the Fall was not a passive or bare allowance, but a sovereign decree exercised according to His wise counsel and purpose to bring about His own glory.

  • THE ROAD TO BETHLEHEM BEGINS WITH A PROMISE
THE ROAD TO BETHLEHEM BEGINS WITH A PROMISE.Genesis 3:15 KJV The journey to Bethlehem did not begin in Luke 2. It began in Eden when sin entered the world and God promised that the seed of the woman would crush the serpent's head. From Genesis 3:15, Scripture traces an unbroken road through Abraham, Judah, David, the prophets, Bethlehem, Calvary, and the empty tomb. Satan fought the promise, but he could not stop God's plan. The manger was God's answer to the mess in Eden, and Jesus Christ is still the only answer for fallen humanity.

  • Ransomed by Christ: From Empty Living to Belonging to God
Are you searching for something deeper than religion, success, approval, or the temporary things this world offers? Peter calls Christians to prepare their minds, remain sober-minded, set their hope fully on Christ, turn away from the passions of their former lives, and pursue holiness in every area of life. But our obedience does not begin with our own strength. It begins with remembering what Christ has already done for us. We were not redeemed with silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ. This sermon examines what Christ has ransomed us from—sin, Satan, the empty ways of our former lives, and the fleeting promises of this present world—and what He has ransomed us into: belonging to God as His own people. The world continually tells us that fulfillment can be found in money, success, relationships, possessions, pleasure, or the approval of others. But these things cannot satisfy the deepest need of the human soul. Only God can satisfy the soul He created. If you are in the Branford, New Haven County, or greater Connecticut area and are looking for a Christ-centered, Scripture-focused, Reformed Presbyterian church, we invite you to listen, search the Scriptures with us, and consider joining us for worship. • Sent by the King
In Mark 6:7–13, Jesus sends the twelve apostles under His authority to proclaim repentance, depend upon God's provision, and demonstrate the advancing power of His kingdom. Their mission reminds the church that ministry begins with Christ, belongs to Christ, and depends upon Christ. Though the apostles exercised a unique and foundational authority, Christ still sends His church into the world through the ordinary means of grace and the faithful proclamation of His Word. Christians are called to trust God rather than human resources, remain faithful when the gospel is rejected, call sinners to repentance and faith, and care compassionately for those who suffer. Ultimately, the passage points beyond the apostles to Jesus Christ Himself, the great Sent One of the Father, who defeated sin, Satan, and death through His cross and resurrection. The mission, message, authority, power, provision, and results all belong to Christ.
