  • Freedom From Oppression
Why did the Pharisees stubbornly refuse to acknowledge Jesus, even in light of His miracle working abilities? Does demonic oppression play a role in our blindness in areas that are well lit? Are we able to distort reality to avoid submission to God? It appears demonic oppression can blind us in ways we're unaware of. Pastor Jamie urges believers to recognize satanic power over what would otherwise be our plain and clear sight. Please listen to "Freedom From Oppression," to find out how we can see well in this darkening world.

  • Our Merciful and Faithful High Priest
This section of Hebrews continues the theme of Jesus Christ bringing His sons to glory by teaching how Jesus conquered Satan and the power of death. We cover numerous Biblical texts from the Old and New Testament that fill out the details of God's work in Christ to free us from slavery. Jesus' death was to defeat death and set His sons and daughters free from the fear of death. We cite the original temptation which led to sin and death as found in Genesis 3. Jesus in His humanity rendered Satan's lie powerless over those who trust in Christ. Our text mentions the 'seed' of Abraham which recounts the promises given to Abraham that he would have many descendants. This seed is spiritual not simply biological. Many of Abraham's descendants did not have saving faith. Then the important topic of Jesus as our great High Priest is introduced which is a key theme in Hebrews. Because of His suffering, He is merciful and able to "take hold of" His own to bring them to Himself. This includes propitiation which implies averting God's wrath and receiving cleansing from sin. He comes to our aid and gives access to the throne of grace where can find grace and help.

  • Is Miraculous Power from God or Satan?
The sermon examines Luke 11 to refute the accusation that Jesus cast out demons by Satan's power, establishing that his miracles are definitive proof of God's kingdom. It contrasts the unified nature of Satan's realm with the divine authority demonstrated through the 'finger of God,' emphasizing that supernatural events must be judged by their spiritual fruit and outcome. The message warns against neutrality, asserting that one is either aligned with Christ or opposed to Him, and highlights the danger of experiencing God's power without genuine faith. It concludes by declaring that true blessing belongs to those who not only witness miracles but also hear and obey the Word of God, leading to eternal deliverance from sin.

  • Crushing the Head of the Serpent
In the climactic finale of human history, Satan will be unleashed from his millennium-long imprisonment in the abyss, launching a desperate bid to reclaim the earth. However, this final confrontation will culminate in his and his followers' ultimate downfall. • Stand Firm in Grace
The sermon concludes the study of 1 Peter by emphasizing the urgent need for believers to remain spiritually vigilant against the devil, who prowls like a roaring lion seeking to devour their faith. It outlines a defensive posture of spiritual warfare, urging Christians to be sober-minded, watchful, and to resist the adversary by standing firm in their faith rather than engaging in offensive tactics. The message highlights that while Satan is dangerous, he lacks ultimate dominion, whereas God sovereignly restores, confirms, strengthens, and establishes His people through grace. Believers are called to endure temporary suffering with hope, relying on God's power to fortify their faith and persevere until the end. Ultimately, the text declares that standing firm in God's true grace is the foundation for overcoming spiritual attacks and securing eternal glory.

  • Christ the Reigning King
Pastor Mark Hogan teaches on Psalm 110 as the most significant messianic psalm, using Jesus' question to the Pharisees to prove the Messiah is David's Lord, not merely his son. He expounds verses 1-2, showing that the command to "sit at my right hand" signifies Christ's heavenly enthronement, fulfilled at his ascension and exaltation as cited in Acts and Ephesians. The "until" attached to his reign reveals an inaugurated kingdom—Christ rules from heaven now while enemies persist until final judgment, echoing 1 Corinthians 15 and Hebrews 10. God extends Christ's kingly scepter from Zion through gospel proclamation and Church building (Matthew 16, 28; Acts 2), demonstrating his rule even while Satan and persecuting powers remain active. The practical application is that believers should have joyful optimism and confidence in Christ's current enthronement while expecting opposition as normal. He also calls believers to hope, believing that Psalm 110:1's "until" guarantees that all enemies, including death, will ultimately be vanquished.
