Today, let's discuss an important topic.
Nutrition Myths vs. Facts.
Every day, we receive health advice from friends, socialmedia, television, and advertisements. While some information is helpful, manypopular beliefs are actually myths that prevent people from living healthierlives.
Let's look at three common nutrition myths.
Myth 1: Skipping meals helps you lose weight.
Many people believe that eating less automatically meanslosing more weight.
Fact:
Skipping meals often has the opposite effect.
When you skip breakfast or lunch, your body becomes veryhungry. Later, you are more likely to overeat, choose unhealthy foods, andexperience energy crashes.
A healthier approach is to eat balanced meals at regularintervals with the right combination of protein, fibre, healthy carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and adequate hydration.
Healthy weight management is about balanced nutrition, not starving yourself.
Myth 2: Drink water only when you feel thirsty.
Many people wait until they are thirsty before drinkingwater.
Fact:
Thirst is actually one of the body's late warning signals.
Mild dehydration can reduce concentration, lower physicalperformance, increase fatigue, and sometimes even create feelings of hunger.
Develop the habit of drinking water consistently throughoutthe day instead of waiting until your body is already dehydrated.
Your body, brain, muscles, and every cell function betterwith proper hydration.
Myth 3: Healthy eating is always expensive.
Many families feel that eating healthy costs too much.
Fact:
Healthy eating doesn't have to be costly.
Simple, locally available foods can provide excellentnutrition.
Fresh vegetables, seasonal fruits, whole grains, pulses, sprouts, eggs, and other nutritious foods are often affordable and providetremendous health value.
Planning meals, avoiding food waste, and reducing processedfoods can actually save money while improving your health.
Remember, preventing disease is usually far less expensivethan treating it.
