Dating back to the 18th century, the music is a blend of regional folk song styles from across rural Mexico, which were later blended with German influences to form what is known today as Mariachi. Over the past few years there has been an increasing level of discussion around the cost of a college education and whether or not the cost of the first few years of school should be reduced, subsidized, or free. Companies like Starbucks, Walmart, and Disney have partnered with schools like ASU, Perdue Global, or University of Florida to offer employees free or greatly reduced tuition to help students obtain a higher education degree. In contrast, there are many free online resources providing educational services for those seeking them. Websites like Saylor.org and University of the People offer free and very low cost education options while open source textbooks like OpenStax are focusing on broadening the ability for free and or low cost educational materials. What are the pro’s and con’s of a free education.

Salt is not only a vital mineral for the human body, it has been an important part of our world history for thousands of years. In fact, even the word salary is derived from salt. Today salt is mainly used for cooking but as many have seen at their local grocer, choices for salt are broad and seemingly growing. So what difference does it make and what types of salts work best for which types of food? Located north of Kingston and south of Port Antonio is a special mountain range in Jamaica that peaks at just over 7,400 ft high. Introduced to Jamaica in the early 1700’s, Blue Mountain coffee, is renowned for its mild flavor and lack of bitterness. What makes this coffee so unique is that the beans must be harvested from four specific parishes and grown between an altitude of 3,000 to 5,500 ft. These high altitudes along with the unique tannins and conditions of the Blue Mountains generate some of the most prized beans in the coffee world. The pace at which artificial intelligence is being applied to everyday living is such that many don't even realize it is happening. Many of us come in contact with some form of AI on a daily basis and the data shows machines often do it better than humans. In the past we have figured out how people pivot when machines take over but historically machines have taken over jobs that were lower skilled motor function focused. This time it's different because AI is taking over higher skilled knowledge work. As higher skilled labor is replaced and populations grow, could this mean it is time to consider a universal basic income? Are companies that implement AI to replace workers at potential risk of AI regulation or taxation in an attempt to create an economic balance?
