Satoshi's Plebs

Time to dust off the history books. France, along with other European nations, has a long history of involvement with Africa. Much of this history is based on exploitation of both the natural resources and the people of Africa. The direct French involvement did not end in many of these countries until 1960.

This history, and the subsequent treaties established during independence of the African nations during the 1958 - 1960 time period set the stage for the continued economic exploitation of the African continent.

Today is Independence Day in the United States. Over 200 years ago a document was signed declaring that the colonists where declaring their freedom from the British Empire. Maybe it's time we declare our own independence day from fiat and the Federal Reserve.

Monero is blockchain and token dedicated to privacy. While I would not recommend it as an investment, it may have utility as a way to transact with other people while providing privacy in a digital universe. In this episode I provide a brief overview of Monero, where it might fit into your digital assets and even cover a bit of how to mine for this privacy focused coin.

There are at least 87 countries considering digital currencies. There are already nine countries who have official CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies). What does this mean for the average user and how will these CBDC tokens compare to Bitcoin in utility?

Are we heading for hyperinflation? It's possible. I believe the next year will determine what level of recession/depression that we experience. It is certainly possible that the US dollar becomes so destabilized that it both loses status as a world reserve currency and it hyper inflates.

Is there anything you can do to prepare?

Is it possible to create a legal framework that not only protects your bitcoin but allows it to grow in value? I believe so and on today's podcast I discuss how we can do that.

New York State has a bill that is waiting on the Governor to sign that would ban proof of work mining. This would mean that companies would not be allowed to set up new bitcoining mining operations in the state after the bill is passed.

Even with the state Assembly and Senate passing the bill, there is no guarantee it will be signed into law. The governor is now saying that the bill will need to be looked at very closely.

In my opinion, one of the most important events of the year will be taking place with the Ethereum 2.0 "merge". The process that will bring together the beacon chain and the main net will create a true deflationary token. It will also be moving from proof of work to proof stake.

There are benefits to this this merge that should greatly increase the value of Ethereum in the future.
