When one is living an unhealthy lifestyle of eating the wrong food, not exercising, or drinking or using drugs then the system gets filled with tamas, or inertia. There are three gunas or qualities known in the yogi system, tamas, inertial, rajas, over activity, and sattwa, light or balance.  To bring about more light, or balance in the system one needs to follow the yogic lifestyle. Then the meditation comes naturally.

We have the choice in every interaction whether to argue and fight and create the division of me and you or to choose peace even when we disagree. Two minds can never see eye-to-eye. Everyone has different backgrounds, training, and input so it is not possible. Our egos want agreement and to be right. So you have to realize that everyone is right from their perspective. Then you choose peace rather than the divisive thought within the mind. Meditation allows you to know that Vision of Oneness whereby you are not just a mind but the same Self alone is everywhere.

Once you become aware of your own mind you realize the division that the human being is living. There is me and there is you.  There are always two. In meditation, you experience a Vision of Oneness whereby you know that the space you are perceiving is the same space alone everywhere. Then you begin to see yourself and everyone as One with the Whole.  Everyone is united with their original nature or true Self. Through this vision of oneness, you never hurt anyone with words or deeds. Your communication and actions begin to support that same life that exists in all!

People are aware that they think and that thinking occurs within the mind.  However, if you did not observe this then you would not know it. Therefore, there is a you that is observing the mind. Through the observation of your mind, you can become aware that you are not just your mind as you are the one who is watching or knowing the mind. When you know the Knower of the mind then you have a choice whether to believe the mind, to continue thoughts that aren't helpful or joy-producing, or to let them go.   Through this de-identification process that is done in meditation, you can know the Knower and remain blissful regardless of what is occurring in your mind.

Everyone would like to find inner peace. However, peace does not exist on the level of the mind. When we call it inner peace we are referring to experiencing a state of peace within your own mind or body rather than in your environment or in the situations in life.   The mind is always wavering, sometimes peaceful sometimes agitated. Therefore, unchanging peace cannot be found within the mind. One has to transcend the mind through meditation and ultimately transform the mind so it is united with the true Self. Then one can know the peace that is forever shining.

The background sound in this audio is the Vyaas River flowing in the Himalayas. That river continues to flow with its rapids and create a loud sound without your doing anything. In the same way, the true Pure Consciousness that you are continues to flow.   

When one begins the practice of meditation and Self-Realization the same mechanism of the mind may believe it has to do the practice like you have done everything else in your life. When the practices are done with dooership, or even with the sense that I am not the doorer, then there is still the dooership of not being the doer. These efforts may not reveal the truth of the Self. The truth of the Self is when you are truly non-doer or when you are just watching and knowing that the space of Self is always there. The highest desire is that you just rest in your own Being. That requires you to just be with that Being that you are without using the same mechanism of the mind and body that you have used for everything else in your life.

There is often talk in spiritual teachings about having to be free from or even having to renounce your ego in order to realize your true Self.  Many people have a weak ego mechanism and do not think highly of themself.  Others, are narcissistic and overvalue themselves but underneath it they are insecure.  In order to realize the Self, it is not that you need to destroy your ego or your sense of I. It is that you need to expand your ego to include the Whole. You are not an individual ego. You are the Whole. When you know this then there is no ego. To be free of ego you can know that ego never existed as anything separate. Only You,  or I, the Self alone everywhere exists.  Then ego is not a problem when it is expanded and includes your Own Self everywhere. 

Those with a good sense of their abilities and strengths may be said to be egotistic but that is only when they are living in a dualistic experience and believe themselves to be separate from others. When the Vision of Oneness is unfolded in meditation then you know that You alone are, Self alone is. This podcast will guide you in this knowledge through listening and practicing the guided meditation.

Everyone what to be loved and to love. However, everyone at some point realizes that what we call love is changing. Therefore, it is never true love. We love because we are by nature made of love. Love is who we are as the consciousness pure.  Therefore, to experience love that never changes we need to meditate on the vision of oneness whereby we see that love alone everywhere.
