Sri Avinash explains that when you're a beginner on the path you cannot accurately gauge your progress. This is why one needs a Guru, someone who knows, to tell you if you have improved and how much. Sri Avinash further offers invaluable insight by identifying the qualities and criteria a practitioner can use to try to measure their progress.

Sri Avinash explains that there are many techniques a Spiritual Master will use to encourage growth in the student and that they come spontaneously without thinking about it. For example, the master may put their body under physical hardship to encourage selfless service from the student, The master may also make it very fun for the students with lots of laughter and jovialness, or they may use wisdom and clarity, or the master may exemplify unconditional love.

Sri Avinash explains that just because a person is enlightened it does not mean they are a Spiritual Master. On the other hand, with a Spiritual Master we not only assume that they are enlightened but they spend their life fulfilling the wish of others to attain enlightenment.

"Every moment of the day, every day, the only thing they think about that's in their mind and their heart is 'how do I fulfill the wish of others to awaken, or relieve their suffering?'"

Sri Avinash discusses his love for the spiritual path and how we can all learn to love anything by building the clarity to realise what does and does not lead to happiness.
