Have you ever noticed how the model prayer brings us full circle from "Thy name, Thy kingdom, Thy will" to "Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and glory" while "give us, forgive us, lead us, and deliver us" come in between? In this lesson, Andrew Murray reminds us that, "The sooner [we] learn to forget [ourselves] in the desire that [our Father] may be glorified, the richer will the blessing be that prayer will bring to [ourselves]... it is only when we yield ourselves to be led of Him,  that the name will be hallowed in our prayers and in our lives... When first the child has yielded himself to the Father in the care for His Name, His Kingdom, and His Will, he has full liberty to ask for his daily bread... As bread is the first need of the body, so forgiveness for the soul...Our daily bread, the pardon of our sins, and then our being kept from [evil], in these three petitions all our personal need is comprehended." Faith in God's Fatherly love for us and trust in His care will lead us to want His ways and will. When we learn to trust Him fully and to worship Him truly, ALL our own needs will be abundantly met. We will never lose anything worthwhile by putting God first in our prayers or in our lives.

If you were guaranteed a meeting place with the infinite God, how often would you go there? If you could look into His face and call Him Father and know that He has promised to reward your requests openly, how long would you stay? Do you have an "inner chamber?" A place where you long to go and love to stay - a place designated as the "classroom" where Christ teaches you to pray? 

"As long as in our worship of God we are chiefly occupied with our own thoughts and exercises, we shall not meet Him who is a Spirit, the unseen One. But to the man who withdraws himself from all that is of the world and man, and prepares to wait upon God alone, the Father will reveal Himself." - Andrew Murray

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth." John 4:24 

But what is the secret to worshipping in spirit and truth? Is it possible for us to gain a child's liberty of access into the Father's presence? If Jesus could lovingly teach the woman at the well what true worship means, can't He also teach us? In today's lesson, Andrew Murray lets us in on the secret and points out some "wonderful first glimpses into the world of prayer" from Jesus' encounter with the woman of Samaria.

(Gen. 45:6-46:34) God is in the business of reconciliation. And He doesn't do things half-way. When Jacob and his beloved son Joseph get reunited, they are able to be together for another 17 years in Egypt. God is in the business of mending broken relationships, but He also requires our participation. Do we welcome people back into our lives with open arms as Joseph did with his whole family? Do we extend kindness and forgiveness to those who have wronged us? By God's grace, full reconciliation is possible.
