Season 2 Episode 7 with Nick Masciangelo, Hawaii Five-O, Lost and in The Big Bend.

Nick allowed Lance & Tiffany into his home in Hawaii as we sat down for a little Saturday Morning Coffee. 

During our time together we chat with Nick, a “jack of all trades” to hear his experiences over the years. 

Nick never shy’s away from anything and takes on different adventures from Lacrosse to Ultimately Acting. 

Who knows where Nick will go next but I’m sure we will join him for the ride. 

We thoroughly enjoyed a glimpse back into time in the toughest times as a kid and the moment he really learned and embraced giving back. 

It’s a lesson we all can appreciate and apply to our daily lives.

Season 2 Episode 6 with Chef Malcom, Food Network Star & Author of the Letter to my Fellow Black Chefs

You may recall back in Season 1 we had Chef join us talking about his new culinary ventures and support and volunteering he does to help our youth.

This week we wanted to bring him back to discuss such an important topic and Difficult Conversation that impacts across the culinary field regarding resources and training for black youth coming into the field.'

Chef Malcom has written “A Letter to my Fellow Black Chefs” which was inspired by an essay written by his great-uncle James Baldwin to his father- “A Letter to My Nephew” back in 1962.

It is key that we allow for diversity and representation of our fellow black chefs to let them shine for their true skills.

We must not pre-label with a notion that they can only provide a certain skillset.

Helping our fellow black chefs to have representation, a seat at the table of the boardrooms, being decision makers and even CEOs.

The ultimate goal is to bring our brothers and sisters together no matter what race or walk of life to better our culinary sectors and the rest of our world.

We need to equip and prepare our kids for safety inside our schools.

We are fortunate to have a very special guest who is on a mission to save lives.

Eddie McGovern Founder & Chief Executive of CERA (Critical Event Response Applications)

He is a Law Enforcement Vet of 21 Years & Retired Police Commander in South Florida.

After being on the frontline and first responder responding to both the Fort Lauderdale Airport Shooting in 2017 and the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida on that fateful day Feb. 14th, 2018.

He began his quest to change public safety communication failures that plagued these critical events.

Over a year ago we lost this beautiful soul, Melissa Otto from Ottomated Success. She had graced us with such love, warmth, strength and zest for life before her last days on this earth. 

Those gifts helped inspire where we are today with Saturday Morning Coffee and we will never forget nor take that for granted. 

Her mission was Restoring Pride- Process, People, Profits with her clients. Through this she would share wonderful stories of success through her podcast videos. 

This connection with Melissa, we needed to keep moving forward . It was the inspiration that you know as Saturday Morning Coffee. 

We hope that we can honor her, Melissa, on this path forward for all of you. She absolutely made an impact and a difference on this world while she was here and is continuing to do so.

As we remember her, we have an inspiring message that she had for you that we want to share.

Our Very Special SMC Guest- Carrie Ahearn served 7 years in the Air Force as an Aircraft Structural Maintaince Journeyman- Rosie Riveter & Paint Slinger. She has now dedicated her life to so many things to continue to give to our country and our Vets!
Carrie Ahearn's AMAZING Bio-
Born and raised in Penn Yan NY. Served 7 years in the Air Force as a Aircraft Structural Maintenance Journeyman - Rosie Riveter and paint slinger. After training in Texas and Illinois, I was stationed at Osan S Korea, Seymour Johnson AFB NC, after a rotation to Saudi Arabia, I moved to McGuire AFB adjacent to Fort Dix in NJ. Returned home to raise my kids.
After service I did customer service and clerical jobs. When I remarried I thought I would go to school and seek a degree to become a pharmacist. During pre-requisite courses at the community college, my husband asked to take a look at the local diner. We bought it - no website, online presence, and closed for the season. Two years in we experienced a flood. After 11 days we had it reopened with a limited menu and a few weeks later we were back in business. In March 2017 we were nominated by our customers for Best of NY Upstate diner. We were selected as judges choice best diner.
In December of 2017 I was hired as the Veteran Service Officer of Yates County.
