One day, God gave a message to Samuel to deliver to Saul, that he was to destroy the Amalekites, leaving none alive. But again, Saul disobeyed God and spared the most important member of the Amalekites, their king. Through this repeated disobedience and self-pride, God regretted ever making Saul King.
