En: Snow gently falls on the roofs of a small Latvijas village.
Lv: Ziemas vakaros gaismas spīdēja no mazās kopienas pirts lodziņiem.
En: On winter evenings, lights were shining from the windows of the small community sauna.
Lv: Burkaļi lidoja pāri debesīm kā naktssargi.
En: Owls flew across the sky like night watchmen.
Lv: Māris, ienācis pirtī pirmoreiz, juta nelielu satraukumu.
En: Māris, entering the sauna for the first time, felt a slight anxiety.
Lv: Viņš bija pavisam nesen pārcēlies uz šo ciematu un cerēja iejusties un saprast vietējās tradīcijas.
En: He had recently moved to this village and hoped to fit in and understand the local traditions.
