Relationships were never meant to be random or purely romantic. God designed relationships for shared life and shared mission. While “dating” as we know it is not directly described in the Bible, Scripture gives clear wisdom for relationships and decision-making. The most important decision we’ll ever make is to follow God. The second most important is who we’ll follow God with in marriage. With that in mind, dating is not meant to be casual–the goal should be preparation for a covenant.
