“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”
In the old testament, God asked for animal sacrifices to uphold the covenant he had with his people. The new testament covenant was a human sacrifice in Jesus Christ. This Sunday, the priest during his homily kept saying "We need to die, we need to experience some form of death... in order to be closer to Jesus" and I know how weird that sounds but what I really heard is this: don't be too attached to anything in your life. The world has been corrupted and so there really is nothing worth loving in this world except for Jesus. In order for life to be meaningful, learning to let go is crucial. The question is, what part of you needs to undergo death in order for you to live?
