We have become so familiar with the beauty of the Christmas story. But perhaps we have failed to make a personal connection with the people in the biblical narrative who were awaiting the arrival of the Messiah. To kick off this 5-part Advent series, The Right Time, Rev. Mark Rae will re-introduce Mary, the mother of Jesus. Why was she favored, and how did she respond to the news Gabriel delivered?

How would one briefly describe God’s majesty, His interaction with, and master plan for mankind? Well, our Psalmist David wrote a beautiful song in Psalm 8, that does just that. Our speaker, Reverend Mark Rae, will help us glean from this beautiful passage, the truth of God’s sovereignty and grace over all creation.

Does the chaos in the world or in your life asks, “Who is in charge?” Even as Christ followers, do we live as though we really believe God will have the final victory? We know that the Psalmist David was a songwriter, but has God given you a song? How do you discover the words God might want you to sing? Psalm 65 helps us to develop the story that becomes our song, and the Reverend Mark Rae will guide us through the steps.

Did you know that a rich, full life is available to believers, even in the direst circumstances? How can that be? The Psalmist David provides some answers in Psalm 34. Today, the Reverend Mark Rae will continue the Songs of Praise series with the Psalmist David’s answers to abundant living, regardless of circumstances.

Whether you are fearful, doubtful, angry or sad, the Psalmist David has been there, and wrote a song to tell about it. Over the next six weeks you will have opportunity to hear powerful and insightful messages based on Psalms, entitled, Songs of Praise. Today’s message, based on Psalm 3, will no doubt turn your heart to praise!

Ephesians 2:10 says we were created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Scot Pollok is back today to conclude our series on grace as he explains how grace is the seed that leads us to do good works, not for salvation, but for spiritual maturity and growth.

You would likely agree that it is easy to love those who love us, those who are like us, but Jesus said, “Love your enemy.” What if someone has badly hurt us or those we love? Jesus said to love them. How do we do that? Today, Scot Pollok, our guest and lead pastor of Faith Bible Church, shares another gift inside of grace that will help us to love even our enemies.

God’s gift of Jesus should remind us of who we were without Him. Only God’s grace gives each of us a new identity in Christ. He is the one who justifies. Yet so many relationship problems today are rooted in pride. Today we will see how a gift of God’s grace may well be the healing balm needed, in our relationship with others, and our fellowship with God.
