To start off the year, we bring you an encore series that fits perfectly as we enter this new season full of hope and expectations. In this series, we are focusing on the One whose first and second coming fulfils every hope and gives each of us the potential of lives full of joy, love and peace. Today, let’s consider the hope of Christ’s coming, both then and now with Dr. Dave Anderson, the founder and president of Grace School of Theology.

Today we complete our Advent series, The Right Time, with a look at the Shepherds. What was the status of a shepherd in the society of that day? How did they respond to the angelic hosts? How did they prepare for the arrival of Christ?

As we continue our Advent Series: The Right Time, we will consider Joseph – his heart and his behavior as he, too, prepared for the arrival of Jesus. The Reverend Mark Rae returns to provide insight into the character Joseph.

We have become so familiar with the beauty of the Christmas story. But perhaps we have failed to make a personal connection with the people in the biblical narrative who were awaiting the arrival of the Messiah. To kick off this 5-part Advent series, The Right Time, Rev. Mark Rae will re-introduce Mary, the mother of Jesus. Why was she favored, and how did she respond to the news Gabriel delivered?

How would one briefly describe God’s majesty, His interaction with, and master plan for mankind? Well, our Psalmist David wrote a beautiful song in Psalm 8, that does just that. Our speaker, Reverend Mark Rae, will help us glean from this beautiful passage, the truth of God’s sovereignty and grace over all creation.

Does the chaos in the world or in your life asks, “Who is in charge?” Even as Christ followers, do we live as though we really believe God will have the final victory? Our speaker today takes us to Psalm 48 to the song of the sons of Korah, as a lesson on trusting that God is who He says He is, and will do what He says He will do.

Have you found it difficult to find joy in the midst of suffering? Once again, we can turn to the Psalms for insight. Our speaker, Reverend Mark Rae will take us through Psalm 16 for help in finding the joy we so desperately need through difficult times.

We know that the Psalmist David was a songwriter, but has God given you a song? How do you discover the words God might want you to sing? Psalm 65 helps us to develop the story that becomes our song, and the Reverend Mark Rae will guide us through the steps.
