This was defiantly a call that could have gone WAY longer!
Allana comes with a huge such a breadth of experience and knowledge.
We talk about many things which cover both the neurotypical family as well as those of us who are neurodivergent.
It follows on really nicely from last week's episode: https://bcarried.wordpress.com/2022/05/23/movement-breeds-energy-with-gary-martinez-jr/
We talk about the fascinating subjects of the human brain (we defiantly geek out in this area). We also are VERY critical of the Victorians!

I loved talking to Gary as he brings so much joy to parenting.
Gary is a fitness trainer with a specialism in supporting families with Autism children. He helps them to find more energy in his day.
We talk about how exercise can help us have more energy. Although this seems counterintuitive, moving your body can have a really positive energy on our energy levels.
Finding your own path and your own journey is so important. Top up and stretching is a quick way that Gary has found his way.
The balance board I chatted about: https://amzn.to/3yTlgzv
We talk nutrition, for both his daughter, certain foods have effects on us, as well as small steps.
We are not in competition with our children or other people. We are in it together! I love the way that Gary talks about the diagnosis of his daughter with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder, he does not describe it as HER diagnosis but as OUR diagnosis.
The book I mentioned: Love Bombing: https://amzn.to/3wEdaJq

Today’s episode was so much fun to record. I love talking to Chris, whom I first met when I was on his podcast earlier this year.
Chris is a dad to 4 children ranging in age from 19 - 5. He has been the primary caregiver to his all children.
We talk about gender roles and the changing dynamics. There is defiantly a theme of going against the norms.
Chris is planning to home educate his youngest daughter and so the conversation of educating our children is a big topic of discussion.
As will come as no surprise to regular listeners we talk about the individuality of people and how systems don’t match that well. Not only do we talk about the flexibility within the schools as well as within the working world

We talk about the changes and challenges in our relationships once we become parents.
She talks from a personal perspective as well as having helped many families.
The conversations cover both relationships and the mental health load of childbirth and the different support available in different countries.

Today we talk to Alex Sinickas about pumping. Combi feeding, Exclusive pumping and the science of being a woman!
Alex is an engineer by trade and hated feeling like a cow when she used her pump. This set her off on the path of how to make pumping easier for parents.
We talk about how parents' experiences are unique, pumping can feel like really hard work. We don't all try every product and have different needs.
There is a real lack of research both on feeding and even wider among women.
We talk through the difference in why or when you are pumping as well as your own aims.

Today we talk to Chris Templeton about parenting through to older children.
When Chris married his wife the package came with a 3-year-old. He now has 3 grown-up children.
It is great to hear about how a family can still be close when they are all grown up.
We talk about what is important now but also what is important in the long run.
Getting stuck in the right now is not always helpful.
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
― Viktor E. Frankl
We react and judge ourselves. So we forget to forgive ourselves.
Parenting is a journey, we don't take the time to look back at how far we have come.

Today we talk to Tiffany O'Hearn a breathing coach.
OK Don't worry this is not about opinions, it is all about breathing through the nose!
Breathing, Connection and not just for mums!
Breathing is connected to your way of living, relating to that all-important parasympathetic nervous system. Our Vagus nerve is so important to relaxation.
We talk about the 3D breath and the way to take a full nourishing breath.
Following on from last week's episode we talk about how our circle influences us and as parents, we reevaluate this as new parents.
During the show, we discuss the episode The Good, The Bad and the Ugly of Kegels
