Most of the organization's work has focused on caring for rhinos in the field that have been illegally and horrifically attacked by those seeking to profit from the animal's horns. According to the organization's website, many injured animals have been given a second chance after undergoing various interventions and multiple surgical procedures performed by their team of veterinary experts. Dorota Ladosz, a veterinary assistant to the organization's founder, Dr. Johan Marais, shares stories of some of the animal heroes that have survived unfathomable pain, injury and lengthy recoveries.
