Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.
I recall just a year or so ago, there was a supposed DM shortage "crisis" that was being talked about up and down D&D social media and You Tube content creators. The concern was that too few people were taking on the mantle of DM leading to less games being able to be played and ultimately leading to a shrinkage of the hobby. At least that was the impression that being given. I have been in this hobby for a very long time, and there has always been a DM shortage! Today it is easier than ever to learn how to DM, and there are more DMs than ever. The trick of it is learning how to become a good DM. Tune in to hear me weigh in on this subject and learn what got me all riled up to talk about it today.
