Saying NO To Guilt Trips

No one else can send you on a “guilt trip” because feeling “guilt” is an inside job. 

 

Guilt is an appropriate emotion to feel when, according to you, you have said or done something you’re not proud of because it doesn’t align with your values. If you are not feeling guilty, you may be feeling discomfort because you are not able or willing to meet the expectations of others. 

 

Consider these questions:

 

  • What are the sensations of guilt in your body?
  • When you notice feeling guilty, what do you make it mean about you?
  •
