This week we have a very dear friend, Angus Richardson of the Celtic rock outfit, Brother!

Brad met Angus a few years ago and found a kindred spirit in the world of bagpipes of rock n' roll. Bethany met Angus last year when we went to the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, and we all hung out talking about life on the road and the affects it has on relationships (kind of the point of this podcast!).

We talk about what it was like playing in a family band with your 2 brothers. How migrating from Australia to southern California brought about the start of a Celtic rock scene on the West Coast of the U.S.. Angus talks about how much he loves spending times with his kids, as well as making a relationship work after divorce for the sake of your children. We also learn that pineapple on pizza may be more of an Australian thing than a Hawaiian thing...Not to mention, the idea of a beet on a burger?!?!

We are back this week with another first for us, a couple that we have never actually met!

We talk to Mark Hunter and his partner, Lauren Dupont. Mark is the (former?) lead singer of Heavy Metal band Chimaira. Lauren is the lady who caught his eye (as mentioned in the interview, you'll have to listen to know the details) and has stuck with him through the years of touring, as well as the years since the touring stopped.

We delve into how it made them both feel as he would have to travel far from home as Lauren dealt with her severe Crohn'sdisease. They reveal how they sought to communicate in the early days of their relationship, when they were living in different states, as well as when Mark was on a completely different continent!

Brad geeked out only a little bit (the rest was after the interview ended) and Bethany got to talk to someone else who has been to Fresno!

This was a lot of fun, and we all bonded over our nerdom about Star Wars!

Ghouls, ghosts, and goths alike, your momma has arrived!

This week, we are joined by Mother Goth HERSELF, Kaz Windness! She is a children's book illustrator/author, a professional thrift shopper, clairvoyant, as well as a super wife and mom, all while dealing with the ins and outs of being a badass Autistic warrior!

We discuss everything relevant to Kaz's life as a creative and how her communication with her family can (and does!) shift depending on her needs as a recently diagnosed, Autistic woman. We also make mention of her rise to internet stardom due to two of her pictures going viral, and the importance of being honest with your kids about everything. We're all over the place, folks!

This wonderful lady is so open and so fun! It's safe to say that Bethany is her numero uno fan... and no one hates it!

Kaz honors us by reading a few verses from her book, MOTHER GOTH RHYMES, and lets us in on the dates of release for her upcoming books. This was truly a fun time had by all!

I had this melody in my head (Guitar part) and wanted to do something with it. I spent hours and days working on it. Bethany was in the other room the whole time, leaving me alone.

With everything going on in the world I realized that Mother's Day was approaching and I needed to do something special. There is a rare guest appearance at the end of the track from each of our children, and myself! 

If nobody listens, I know at least a couple who will. I hope you all enjoy as this is going to be the album closer on what is shaping up to be my first solo record.

We discussed very early on how we would like to format our show. One of the things that we feel a lot of couples need to to do and not forget to do is check in with each other as to how life is affecting them.

On this 5th episode, on the 5th day of May, we sit down and discuss how our interviews have gone, how life has lead us to each other, what we think happens when we are around other couples (a bit) and what our 5 favourite books are!

All in all, we just invite you into what our conversations are like when we want to see where each other is at within their own head space. We feel like we do a good job for each other and with the new found tools we have been given by our friends, we get to examine where that may take us.

We are still waiting on that wine and coffee sponsorship, but maybe that will come in time.

This week we interview some dear friends of ours. They are both creatives, and up until recently worked in the same space. He is a tattoo artist and she is dancer (exotic?) and teacher.

We have known this couple for a while now (Brad and Alex go back over 2 decades) and they were actually there the day that we got engaged!

We talk about how they started their businesses together and how that has presented challenges, but has also made them grow to love each other more. They reveal that there were things that needed to happen, that they still feel they are not finished, and ultimately that is the way it should feel. We also talk about communication and how it is vital no matter what the outcome may be! Fun fact, though? Their bulldog was sleeping behind them the WHOLE time we were talking.

We found that once again, the things that bring people together and keeps them together is knowing how to be honest and realize you have the choice of being with your partner. Plus, the Lord of the Burrito Dance is really a nice guy, deep down.

We return this week with an interview (our first) in which we talk to a friend and a new found friend in his wife. We talk to Christina and Wolf Loescher! They were amazing and we had a great time.

We both collectively know Wolf, but Brad has known him for 5 years. This is a conversation that has never happened before and Brad even admits that he now feels differently about Wolf and now has a sense of hope!

Their story is not that much different from ours, so it made for an inspiring moment and gave us confidence that we are on the right track.

The current pandemic has kept us in the house and we are loving it.
