Pastor Jason Mayhall leads the examination of the Book of Mark at Redemption Bible Church. This is part of an ongoing sermon series entitled "The Crown and the Cross." In this passage, Jesus reached out to those who were not well regarded in His society, an example of how God has come for us all; to show us that His grace is open to everyone. However, we must see ourselves as lost before we can open ourselves to God's love. Those who believe they can heal themselves, or follow Jesus as an instructor but not a Savior, will not find God in the end. We must recognize that God sees what we are and still He calls to us. He alone knows what we might become; God sees the potential in all of us. All we must do is accept that - no matter how together we may appear on the outside, inside we are broken and must look to God for salvation.
