Wes Spence interviews Sean Poynter in Punta de Mita, Mexico. Originally from Cincinnati, Sean Poynter's family made the move to Florida when he was 10 years old. Shortly afterwards, he picked up surfing. At age 14, he was sponsored by Volcom and traveled internationally as a pro/am surfer with the company. In 2010 he made the transition to Stand-Up Paddling at the professional level.
