Scarif Scuttlebutt Podcast

Ro and Brad are back and in this week's episode the top 5 most perfect movies are listed, in no particular order. This was a tough episode to put together, a few months in the making. Imagine picking your Top5 Most Perfect Movies. Would your list change day to day? Ours did. So many great movies throughout the decades, but we got down to business making a very comprehensive list. Did your movie make our list?

Plus, Brad asked AI to identify a list of perfect movies. Listen in and see what artificial intelligence selected. The list surprised us for sure and so did our own selections. We also got a voicemail from everyone's semi-producer, Camray and he talks about his own criteria to apply to this task.

One of our favorite shows this summer, our Top5 Most Perfect Movies. Listen in and make sure to email us your picks. Thanks for listening and thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters. You all drive us to be the best. A big happy birthday to us as we share a birthday this week just a day apart, Brad on the 3rd and Ro on the 4th. Help us celebrate and get this episode out there. We appreciate it.

Check out this week's discussion with Brad and Ro and thanks to follower Loki Jarson for suggesting the topic. We explore the concept of 'Death of the Author' in this deep dive where it's postulated once a work of art is out, it no longer belongs to the author. We explore the idea that the consumer attaches meaning to said project and that the author's original intent is no longer valid. Does it apply to long standing franchises like Star Wars where the original author is no longer in charge of the message? Do new authors need to refer back to the original text to formulate new stories? If they don't what may or may not be missing? We get into the weeds on this. Another Scarif deep dive. We hope you enjoy it.

We continue our latest comic review, this time we venture into Dark Horse territory with the 4-part mini series, Son Of Dathomir. Lets dive into this Darth Maul story and discuss. Issue 1 and 2 were pretty jam packed with action, playing out more like an episode of The Clone Wars animated show, will the series live up to our hype as we conclude our review? It has been a wild ride so far, how does the story cap off here? Find out on #ScarifLive

Join Ro and Spencer from the @DingusDen and let's discuss.

Join us on a new episode as we sit down with Dani @SemperFiDani to ask #FiveQuestions. This series of shows asks guests to formulate 5 questions we ask and answer, off the cuff, un rehearsed and un adulterated on the spot for honest takes. One of our favorite show concepts, we always have fun with guests on this.

The Scarif Cafe is taking orders. Grab a booth and sit back and relax, the view here on Scarif is lovely. Ro sits down to talk with blogger, writer and movie fan Chris Mich about some awesome fan films and parodies from a galaxy far, far away. They say imitation the most sincere form of flattery and at an estimated number of hundreds of thousands of fan films in existence, fans are flattering the franchise for sure. What have been some of your favorite throughout the years? What's considered some of the first parody or fan film out there after the massive success of the original Star Wars? These are great questions that Ro and Mich will try to answer.
