Scatterbrain Podcast Presents:

"The Universal Being" full audiobook.

(c)2023 by Ian B. Mesplay.

Due to some understandable complaints about the artificial voice used on the previous offerings of this story, Ian reads his story himself for this episode.

There are also some updates, additions, and minor changes to the text, so if you have heard this audiobook before, it will be worth your time to listen again.

This took a lot of time and effort to complete, so thank you for listening!

Rejoice! Episode 194 is finally here! And this episode is as new as you could possibly get! As in, this was recorded just six hours ago, edited right after band practice, and served piping hot for maximum flavor!

Dan and Ian catch up and talk about life, music, and then finally some alien autopsy hoaxing!

Released on the show, "Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction", hosted by Jonathan Frakes back in 1995, this film caused a heated debate regarding it's authenticity, but has since been widely discredited and debunked as completely fake.

It's good to be back in the saddle!

Thanks for your patience, and thank you for listening!

"The Missionary's Final Report" is a supplemental episode to "It Was A Wonderful Life: The Autobiography of Roselyn Mesplay In Her Own Words" in an effort to give context to some things that Roselyn said in the previous two episodes... please go back and listen if you haven't already.

It is spoken from the final report to Lutheran Mission by Rev. Kenneth P. Mesplay prior to leaving New Guinea in 1973 after 13 years missionary work in Papua New Guinea.

Thank you for listening to this labor of love for my parents, Kenneth P. Mesplay ( 1933 - 2013 ) and Roselyn M. Mesplay ( 1932 - ) .

The two most amazing people I have known in my life just so happen to be my parents, and I couldn't be more proud to be their son. - Ian

Volumes VI and VII cover 1962 - 1969.

In this episode, Roselyn recounts her adventures from her time in New Guinea as "the missionary's wife".

From a man being killed by a cassowary and then Roselyn keeping one as a pet, to another man being eaten by a crocodile in a body of water next to the hospital she was giving birth in! She also was the air-traffic controller for the highest landing strip in the world, guiding light aircraft down to land by sight only! She lost many pilot friends to crashes and mishaps during her time there, and in fact narrowly missed an untimely end in an airplane ( and other ways ) multiple times.

Ian continues his interview of his rather amazing Mom, Roselyn in, "It Was a Wonderful Life: The Autobiography of Roselyn Mesplay In Her Own Words", Volumes VI and VII.

Happy New Year everyone!

From growing up in Kansas as a piano prodigy and performing throughout the mid-west, to graduation with a degree in music. From teaching music and leading music troupes, then starting a family with two daughters with her husband Ken. Then, to answering the calling to go overseas to New Guinea to start a new life as the missionary's wife.

Two more children would eventually follow... but we'll get there in upcoming episodes.

First, please enjoy Ian interviewing his Mom, Roselyn, for an oral history of her life in, "It Was A Wonderful Life: The Autobiography of Roselyn Mesplay In Her Own Words".

Volumes I - V covers her birth year, 1932, to shortly after arriving in New Guinea to begin their missionary work in 1960.

Note: the various voices in the first volume are Ian's "Other" Mom Gail, and his older siblings Christy, Lisa, and Kent. Lisa joins the conversation in Vol. II, and Roselyn's neighbor's goddammed TV joins in in Vol. III and IV ( sorry about that ).
