SCC Podbeqan

Were bringing you a long and solemn episode this week on the topic of performative activism. We bring in a new segment and new Twitter hashtag.

Get ready to welcome our first guest on the podcast, Wilfredo, aka @Wilfreyfrey on Twitter. He was ahead of the times and was the first to use the #CentralAmericanTwitter hashtag, but he tells us the true tea on how the space took years to create! We also send lot's of love to other key people in creating the foundation of #CentralAmericanTwitter to become the amazing online space for Central American engagement.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ¡PUCHICA VOS! We're reunited and laid out our goals and hopes for the podcast, ourselves, and the diaspora. We discuss our astrology predictions and what scents should be in our baño.

Esto es para todas las mujeres centroamericanas. We have another playlist for y'all! Sam and Sandra go through the 7 countries to present talented womxn and femme energyyyy. It is quite lit.

We wanted to chill it out this week and talk about some random things on our mind. We have a love and hate relationship with dating apps and online dating, and affect us constantly! We discuss 5 dating apps and our experiences with each one. Topics range from automatic left swipes, ghosting, and the shrinking of queer femme spaces.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Honduras and Hondurans around the world, and so we wanted to provide some exposure by talking about what is going on in Honduras after the election held on November 26. Since the election, mass protests, a dusk to dawn curfew (which has now been lifted), and other intriguing developments have occured, but have been overlooked in mass media. Check this episode out to get some context to Honduras and Honduran elections, as well as to learn about the developing situation in Honduras.

Get ready to catch some HEAAAT with these new mics! Sam and Sandra discuss the blind eye Mexico and Shitcanxs turn on discrimination, crime, and hegemony enforced on Central Americans. Topics range from fútbol, Coco, and aliens. Let's get ready to rumble!

Join us as we go to the 3rd Annual Central American International Film Festival at the Los Angeles Film School. First few minutes are in a vlog style format, and then we go in on our three favorite films. Huge shoutout to all the incredible artists that were showcased at the film festival! Also, we plan to regularly upload new episodes on Mondays, so start out the week with us as we talk shit on just about anything!!

Happy day-after-Black-Friday, or as it's known literally everywhere else in the world - Saturday. In the first ten minutes of this cachito, we talk about actually publishing the pod and the incredibly warm reception we received. We shout out a few people who shouted us out as well.

We chat about Temporary Protected Status and the movement around #DefendTPS. Data provided by the Immigrant Legal Resource Center and Sandra's own digging around. Sam's sad voice provided by Sam. Discussion is organic, locally grown and free of GMOs. (Gross Machista Overtones)
