We’re going to discover today that God guards what He gives, and that we have an amazing inheritance. We can praise him for at least six things:

For His abundant mercy.

Friends, with things becoming increasingly hostile toward Christians in our culture, it’s imperative that we know who we are, where we’re from, how we’re to live, and to cherish what we’ve been given.

We can’t truly find eternal life until we see that we fall far short of God’s standards of goodness and until we recognize that Jesus is God Himself, sent to redeem us from our sins by dying as our substitute on the cross.

Society is trying to sell us stuff all the time…and it’s not all that difficult to do because we’re so unsatisfied with what we have. Would you agree that discontentment is our default setting? That reminds me of something I heard some time ago: We buy things we don’t need with money we don’t have to impress people we don’t like.

We are born liars. You don’t teach kids how to lie. You teach them not to lie. 66% of all Americans say there is nothing wrong with telling a lie. When asked if they believed that honesty is the best policy, only 31% said they agreed with that statement.

There is one thing we tend to forget about Robin Hood because it ruins both the character and the story. The bottom line is that Robin Hood was a thief. He was a crook!

Even though he robbed from the rich and gave to the poor, the end does not justify the means.

Is there anyone you're refusing to love right now? Are you treating anyone with indifference? Are you ignoring someone you’re in a disagreement with? How would things change if you would work at seeing people the way God does?

Would you like to have more hours in your day? More days in your week? More weeks in your year? More years in your life? If you could have more than 24, how many would you like? We should probably sit forward a bit because the fourth commandment deals with 1/7, or 14% of our time.

What you call God is a big deal to Him because His name reflects His nature and He’s spent eternity building His name.
