Here’s another early conversation we had with Sulo, King and David O’Reilly . We were experimenting with a third host , hence Sulo . It became really difficult to get the schedules to match so we eventually ended up with Jerm and Jer.

we
kind of dive into some things that we didn’t really talk about before as we talk about crash worship and some other interesting things about the old days, but this is a episode that I completely forgotten about and

going

through

the

archives

of

I

found

it

so

hopefully

this

one

and
 thanks for the support!

This is the uncut version from a future documentary :

I’m releasing this finally because for one I’ve been keeping quiet about some of the things that happened during my time booking shows, and then actually basically running the club known as Soma, and there was controversy over certain bands that would not play the club and reasoning for that as well as ever rumors that have percolated over the years about why certain bands would not play a club SOMA.

Justin Pearson is a friend who am I still consider a family, as my little brother. They are many attempts that I’ve done to Tell the story but always kept certain facts out due to the fact that for one I couldn’t remember certain things and for two the more I try to remember things , the more repressed memories come up and made it even more difficult to figure out the truth. Justin as well as the rest of his band struggle and the band short-lived and I were all what I would consider pretty damn good friends and that is the origin story of how I ended up at the club.

We address a few things, but we also just had a really good chat, but one thing that I want to make perfectly clear that this is a conversation between two friends and there’s no hidden agendas, but Justin reminds me of an incident that I have suppressed. I didn’t realize that it was the beginning of the end of friendships that to me, even to this day ,are more valuable than any and everything that I did at the club. I lost myself and had to reinvent myself and in an atmosphere where I needed as much support as possible yet unfortunately the truth had to be buried so that I could do my work, which was  amazing and for nine years theres hardly a band that didn’t get an opportunity to play on a real stage. Even trying to do this intro is emotional, so I’ll leave you with this, there’s no love lost for the owner and for all the torment I had to endure and I have come to terms with the past .

I do have regrets but to be able to sit at the table with my friend and talk after almost 40 years is priceless .

links below for Justin‘s projects .

Remember : You don’t pick your family, but you can pick your friends and when your friends become family, that is love.

RIP Eric.

We sit in with Andy Platfoot , bass player for the Buck o Nine .After we get to hear a new song the band has written ,we catch up and then dive right into Andy's working studio and chat about how the work songs back and forth since band members live in different cities and states .  We find out how he got into the band through the reader with a recommendation from Blink 182 . Stinkaholic being Andy's first band and then after a replacement bass player ended up having an episode on stage while on tour , Andy's opportunity arises again and was crash coursed into the band with 25 songs as his audience introduction.  this is just the beginning of a great chat with Andy ! enjoy

In this episode , Pete and I chat about how he became involved and interested in music and eventually managing a Music Trader . We talk about old friends , records , record stores , bands and early on we chat about his short lived band . Really fun and definitely a “fly on the wall “ insight to a couple friends talking about San Diego’s music scene .

Lots of shoutouts as well !
