Select 390: Mixed by badrom by SceneNoise

For Select 389, Tunisian DJ, producer, and label head Hamdi Ryder shares a recording of his Sandbox 2026 set from the GrooveBox stage.

The set is a club-ready mix that bounces between acid-licked house grooves, funky textures and disco flourishes, featuring some of his own productions like ‘Dr White Cuts #2’ -featuring samples of Tunisian cult-classic series ‘Choufli Hal’ - alongside refreshing, deep cuts like DX by Etienne, You Kinda Get it by Pierre Marty, and Home Wreckers by Heavy Hitters.

This week’s Select series features a special set from Egyptian selector Hey-D, recorded live during her Sandbox Festival 2026 opening set at the Beach Hut stage. The set moves between deep house, indie dance, and Afro-infused rhythms, layered with soulful vocal chops and progressive house grooves that evoke the early-morning energy of Sandbox’s beach days. It features an eclectic selection of tracks, including Barry Can’t Swim’s ‘Kimbara’, Reirei’s ‘Azul’, and Maxi Meraki’s ‘About Yourself’.

Over the past two years, Hey-D has been grooving dancefloors at some of Cairo’s major clubs with her playful and uplifting sets, known for often blending progressive beats with Afrocentric vibes and melodic rhythms.

This week on SceneNoise’s Select mix series, He/Sham, an up-and-coming DJ in Cairo’s ever-growing underground clubbing scene, steps into the spotlight. He takes us on a trippy, intense ride through percussive bass, featuring deconstructed club textures and electro shaabi cuts with hints of psychedelic undertones. The mix folds in some of the region’s most left-field selections, including Hassan Abou Alam’s ‘Te3ebt’ and 3phaz’s remix of 'Etoy’. One moment, it feels like a chaotic left-field rave; the next, it shifts into the depths of an underground club in Bristol.
