Scenes in the Square has a new guardian… DC’s iconic superhero, Batman. The Dark Knight is the highest positioned statue of them all standing 25 metres from the ground as he keeps watch over the square on the rooftop of the Iconic ODEON Luxe Leicester Square Cinema.
Perched on a bench in the gardens, Rowan Atkinson’s legendary comic creation, Mr Bean is primed and ready for his Scenes in the Square close up… just don’t ask him to make you a sandwich.
Be sure to schedule a sit-down selfie and a spot of lunch during your Scenes in the Square tour with everyone’s favourite bear, Paddington.
The earliest of our movie moments is depicted on top of the T.K.T.S. building, which hosts cinematic comedy legends, Laurel and Hardy, who starred in over 100 films together from the 1920s to 1940s.
Burrowing in a flower bed in the southwest corner of the square, Bugs Bunny can be seen adopting his usual carrot chomping pose alongside his mailbox as he makes an unmistakable presence for visitors to Scenes in the Square.
Dust off those dancing shoes as we jump for joy with the iconic Gene Kelly as he hangs from a lamppost and re-enacts his timeless dance sequence that he directed and choreographed for Singin’ in the Rain.
Gracing the west terrace, the iconic figure of Mary Poppins can be seen flying above a flower bed, elegantly coming into land in the square that has hosted two movie premieres for the loveable, but stern, London nanny, and is minutes away from the Prince Edward theatre, the home of the multi award-winning musical Mary Poppins.
Bursting through the wall of the VUE Leicester Square, three metres above the ground, is our most dynamic statue, the one and only, Wonder Woman.
