Even nostalgia isn't the same anymore

The scene is nothing if not a giant ball of sobbing about how everything was better when computers were just growing their eighth bit - but is that a good thing? Are we taking up the space from the future with the past? What's better, to make a fresh demo on an old platform, or an old demo on a fresh platform? The show dives into these weighty questions while, naturally, reminiscing about old times, because of course.

Time for another show! Tune in to see what kind of theme Steph and Kevman cooked up this time!

The joy of livecoding - with Flopine.

There's just no denying it: over the last few years the livecoding craze took the demoscene by storm - but what is it? Is it part of the scene? How does it project onto the scene? Where does it meet the scene and where does it avoid it? We sit down with Flopine, the perhaps most prominent personality of the livecoding community, to gain more understanding of what it is and what it isn't, and what her experiences are in the field. Finally, we also have a call to action for you.

Fnord will bring our Sound of SceneSat reveal party to a close. Don't worry though because there are still plenty of amazing tracks for you to discover once the party is over!

Steph and Kevman are up next to share some more great tracks from the Sound of SceneSat Volume 6.

Bombe will continue The Great Reveal and play some of his favourite tracks from SoS6. Unz Level: ★★☆☆☆, Awesomeness Level: ★★★★★!

The day we've all been waiting for has finally arrived! The Sound of SceneSat Volume 6 is ready for all to hear! Ziphoid will start off the reveal with some of the cozy tracks from this great new compilation.

Steph will present another selection of soothing music to help you prepare for the week ahead!!

No, really - why DO people make demos?

Most of us have been in the scene for a decade or more - so much that it's become second nature. But in 2021, with the massive reach of social media and various other computer art outlets gaining popularity - why would anyone else start making demos? Are we just doing it out of nostalgia and muscle memory? The show takes a look at the shifting relevance of the scene!

Oh boy, it's been a while, hasn't it? Surely some parties must have happened in the mean time?

There sure have been a whole bunch of parties and one of them will be the focus of tonight's show. You will hear tracks from (almost) all competitions in all kinds of style and you are bound to like at least some of them, I promise!
