  • S5 -Ep 26 - 1980 Album Picks, Rapid-Fire Games & The Soundtrack to Grocery Store Deep Cuts

    Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

This week, Craig and Kevin waste no time — diving headfirst into a mix of Either/Or and Rate It challenges, throwing fast takes, forced decisions, and 1–10 gut ratings across genres, eras, and a few purposely dicey selections.

From there, Craig throws in another trivia twist, hitting Kevin with questions meant to stump, surprise, or spark a spontaneous tangent (or all three).

Then the duo rewind to 1980, each picking an underrated or overlooked album from a year that straddled decades and genres — where classic rock evolved, punk splintered, and new wave started sneaking through the radio static.

Finally, they close out with a brand-new edition of their running series:
🎶 The Soundtrack to… The Grocery Store That Only Plays Deep Cuts
Each host brings 5 songs to the register — trading off track-by-track — to build a playlist for the kind of store where no Billboard chart has ever dared tread. Think crate-digging background noise that turns heads in the frozen food aisle.

▶️ A YouTube playlist will be created for each “Soundtrack to…” theme — including this one, so you can shop, sway, and Shazam in peace.

  • S5 - Ep 25 - 1994 Deep Cuts, Artist Clues & The Soundtrack to Game Day Hype

    Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

Craig and Kevin are still livin’ in the ‘90s — and they’re not mad about it. This week, the focus is on 1994, a year loaded with grunge holdouts, alt-rock breakthroughs, and a wave of overlooked albums that deserve another spin. Each host brings one underrated record to the table, continuing the Schizo tradition of digging deep beyond the obvious.

From there, it’s time for a round of Rate It, where Kevin fires off ten quick-hit topics for Craig to rate 1–10 — and then Craig flips the script with his own batch of rating challenges for Kevin.

Then it’s on to Either/Or, followed by another round of Craig’s ongoing 5-Hint Artist Challenge:
🎯 Can Kevin guess the mystery artist they both love before the final clue? Or will Craig throw him off the scent once again?

Finally, they close things out with their new signature segment:
🎶 The Soundtrack to… Getting Pumped Up Before a Game
Whether it’s football, basketball, a swim meet, or your annual beer league ping-pong tournament, Craig and Kevin each bring 5 songs that crank up the energy and get the blood pumping. Hype. Power. Motivation. No genre is off-limits.

▶️ A YouTube playlist will be created for each "Soundtrack to..." theme so you can blast it on your way to warm-ups or trash talk your opponent with flair.

  • S5 - Ep 24 - 1995 Deep Cuts, Rate It Rumbles, & The Soundtrack to the End of Summer

    Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

This week, Craig and Kevin are back in full force — covering more ground than a double LP and still finding space to shake things up.

They kick things off with a return to the tried-and-true: spotlighting underrated or overlooked albums from 1995 — a year drenched in alt-rock, grunge’s fading glow, and the rise of genre-blending misfits.

Next, it’s time for not one, but two rounds of "Rate It":
🎯 Kevin tosses 10 rapid-fire topics at Craig for 1–10 ratings
🎯 Craig fires back with his own set of curveballs
No time to overthink. Just score it and stand by it.

    Then it’s onto Either/Or, followed by a brand-new twist:
🕵️‍♂️ Craig’s Artist Clue Game — 5 rounds of hints describing a beloved artist.
Can Kevin guess before the final clue drops? Or will Craig stump the pod?

Finally, they close things out with the debut of a brand-new segment:
🎶 The Soundtrack to… the End of Summer
Each host brings 5 songs that capture the vibe of the season slipping away — from hazy nostalgia to quiet reflection to full-on sun-soaked sendoffs. No rules, just feels.

▶️ And to keep the vibes going, a YouTube playlist will be created for each “Soundtrack to…” theme so listeners can experience the full mood.

  • S5 - Ep 22 - 2010 Album Picks, Rating Roulette & Artists Who Vanished

    Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

Craig and Kevin kick things off by taking each other to task in a fresh round of the Schizo Hot Seat — rapid-fire Either/Or album selections, 10 rounds, winner stays on the board. Quick instincts, strong opinions, no lifelines.

Then Craig raises the stakes with a new layer: Rate It.
He throws 10 music-related topics at Kevin — anything from genres and trends to album formats and fuzzy concepts — and asks for a 1–10 rating, with Kevin forced to lock it in and (maybe) explain himself afterward. Zero prep. All gut.

Next, they shift gears and dive into their albums of the week, spotlighting two underrated or overlooked records from 2010 — a year where indie exploded, pop got experimental, and some now-iconic acts were just getting started.

Finally, the conversation winds into something more reflective:
🎤 What happens when artists disappear?
Craig and Kevin explore the phenomenon of musicians who seem to vanish — no farewell tour, no breakup post, no warning — and whether the mystique is intentional, frustrating, or part of the mythology.

  • S5 - Ep 21 - 1964 Album Picks + Hot Seats & a Deep Dive into World Music

    Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

Craig and Kevin kick things off with the return of the Schizo Hot Seat — a 10-round, no-skips showdown where it’s album vs. album, and the winner moves on to face the next contender. Think musical March Madness with zero brackets and maximum gut instinct. Will classics reign, or will personal bias break the system? Either way, only one album survives each round.

Next, they take it all the way back to 1964, spotlighting two overlooked or underrated albums from a pivotal year in music history. Sure, the Beatles and Stones were taking over, but Craig and Kevin dig deeper to highlight the lesser-known gems that still hold weight.

Then it’s time for the heart of the episode: World Music 🌍
After discovering a new album that opened his ears, Craig turns to Kevin for guidance — asking when and how he first got into global sounds, and where he goes to find fresh discoveries today. From Afrobeat to Latin psych, Southeast Asian funk to Middle Eastern jazz, the conversation winds through decades and continents of musical treasure.

Whether you’re a longtime world music explorer or new to the journey, this episode’s got something for your ears and your record wish list.

  • S5 - Ep 20 - Either/Or Heat, 1991 Deep Cuts & the AllMusic Shuffle Surprise

    Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

It’s Episode 20 and the Schizo boys are still going strong — and a little unpredictable. Craig and Kevin kick things off with another round of Either/Or Hot Seats, throwing ten rapid-fire choices at one another that force some tough (and occasionally absurd) musical decisions.

From there, it’s time to rewind to 1991 — a year packed with genre-defining albums and seismic shifts in the music landscape. Naturally, Craig and Kevin each bring one underrated or overlooked record from the year that helped shape the ‘90s sound — without just playing the hits.

And just when Kevin thinks the ride is winding down, Craig drops a surprise shuffle twist:
🎲 The AllMusic Album Shuffle — Kevin shuffles his library and selects five random albums. Craig researches each one on AllMusic.com, reads the official rating, and challenges Kevin to:

    1. Guess the AllMusic rating, and
    2. Say whether he agrees or not

It’s half trivia, half taste check, and fully chaotic.

  • S5 - Ep 19 - Hot Seats, 1987 Deep Cuts & Rethinking Music Reviews

    Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

Craig and Kevin flip the format this week, ditching the Schizo Shuffle and skipping the album cover battles — instead, they jump straight into the fire by putting each other on the hot seat with rapid-fire questions, unexpected prompts, and mildly uncomfortable musical truths.

Once the flames settle, they spotlight two underrated or overlooked albums from 1987, offering a fresh listen to a year that gave us hair metal highs, alt-rock beginnings, and pop polish with bite.

The conversation then turns introspective as they dive into the topic of music reviews — how they’ve changed from the golden days of Rolling Stone, Spin, and NME to today’s world of algorithm-fed opinions, YouTube reactors, and scores without context.

Finally, Craig throws down a challenge for both hosts moving forward:
🎯 Spend more time outside your personal genre comfort zone — and review albums that wouldn’t normally make the rotation. The goal? Stretch the ears. Challenge the bias. Embrace the unexpected.

  • S5 - Ep 18 - Shuffle First, 2024 Deep Cuts Later — And a Few Album Cover Face-Offs for Dessert

    Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

This week, Craig and Kevin start things off with the Schizophrenic Shuffle — their ongoing audio roulette where five randomly shuffled tracks are shared, digested, and categorized into three distinctive reactions:

🎧 Highlight – The song that stood tall
🪞 Reminder – A blast from the past
🚪 New Introduction – A welcome musical stranger

Then it’s time to zoom in on 2024, the most recent year they’ve tackled to date. Each host brings a still-under-the-radar album from the past year that’s worth revisiting (or discovering for the first time). With so much music released weekly, these selections aim to cut through the noise and spotlight what might’ve been missed.

Finally, they close things out with a round of Either/Or — ten head-to-head musical face-offs where Craig and Kevin make impossible choices with no room for hedging — and then…

🎨 Album Cover Challenge: Craig throws Kevin a visual curveball, asking him to pick between a series of iconic (or delightfully obscure) album covers, purely based on art and instinct.

  • S5 - Ep 17 - Y2K & Deep Cuts: 2000 Albums, Shuffle Gems & Rating Battles

    Let Us Know Your Thoughts!

Craig and Kevin kick things off with their Schizophrenic Shuffle, where both hosts shuffle their personal libraries, trade five tracks, and return with one song in each of these categories:

🎧 Highlight – The standout track of the week
    🪞 Reminder – A nostalgic return
🚪 New Introduction – A track they hadn’t really explored before

Then it’s time to lock in some snap judgments with Rate This, the game where Kevin and Craig rate albums, artists, or topics on a 1–10 scale — no warmups, no explanations (at least not right away).

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Schizo episode without Either/Or — ten rounds of musical face-offs where only one pick survives. May the best record win.

They cap things off by diving into the new millennium in style with the year 2000, unearthing underrated or overlooked albums from a year loaded with alt-rock holdovers, rap-rock chaos, and indie breakthroughs. Each host brings a pick that deserves another listen — no Limp Bizkit in sight (we hope).

From Y2K nostalgia to modern-day music hot takes, it’s another unpredictable ride with the Schizo boys.
